Re: Jaws command to get Urgent msn?

Juan Pablo <jpculasso@...>

Dave, probably he said switch to the urgent conversation.
Gerardo,
Firstly you need to asign the msn chat to a keystrocke.
Do the followin:
1.
Press alt tab to reach the conversation windows that you want assign.
2. Press control plus windows key plus a number (1 to 5) to assign the conversation key.
To jump between the chats window:
Use insert plus space bar. After the sound press 1 to 5. If you need to jump to the urgent conversation, press 0.

Take care,
Juan.

Re: Incongruences between Jaws English and Jaws spanish

Voy a visitar su página! I do speak Spanish and have wondered about
JFWs in Spanish and how it works. If it's something that doesn't
exist, maybe we could work together to translate these books so that
Spanish speakers can have them or any other related stuff?

HI listers: I'm finally back after some time; very high expectations I'll
get lots of good things from here!

Yesterday I started listening to Jaws Daisy books to get a better grasp and
maybe learn some tricl or tip I might have missed, and found a few
inconsistencies between Jaws English and Jaws Spanish I'd like to point out;
maybe you guys have seen them?

For starters I've moved from Jaws12 to 13 which recently got translated in
Spanish. First of all I see no Spanish daisy books! I'd think I'd be able to
maybe learn some things by listening to the English daisy books, however
here is where some of the inconsistencies start:

The books say from the Help menu one can go to Traning which is the first
item. I looked and looked and can't find it in my spanish jaws! Neither that
or the Search for updates aren't there.

Yes those of us with enough english to understand, and with enough
experiences with Jaws are able to think up ways to get around and achieve
what is being taught in these books, but what about all those people who are
very excited to, once get Jaws, learn about the computer and all that it has
to offer? How are they suppose to achieve the filosofy by which these books
were originally designed?

2.-When downloading Spanish Jaws, the daisy books aren't there except for
the FS Getting started, thus having to download them manually.

3.-for some weird reason, FsReader doesn't recognize these Daisy files as
daisy! Hard as I might try to change directory and open the Daisy books, I
get a ding and yes I know they get installed in the correct place since I
can see them when I go to Program Files, Freedom Scientific, Jaws Training.

I'd like to say that thanks to the cassettes, preceeding these digital
books, I learned the basics, thus talking from personal experience. From the
time I've been on spanish lists, and I see so many questions posed on such
simple matters covered on these courses, I always had a dream to somehow be
able to colaborate with FS maybe by recording Spanish tutorials and maybe
incorporate them into Jaws Spanish software?

I invite you (if you know enough spanish that is) to visit my blog

<http://tuimagina.wordpress.com/> http://tuimagina.wordpress.com

In which I recently recorded a few Jaws Spanish podcasts.

Re: Jaws with Flash Content?

Bissett, Tom <tom.bissett@...>

Hi Claudia, This is typical of flash. Unless it is specifically made accessable this is what you get.
Flash can be made some what accessable but there are a lot of issues with it. One is that flash is often layered and jaws can only access the first layer and only if it is made accessable. So flash is still a poor choice for adaptive technologies.

Best I can suggest is to Alt+h, then o then m to open the dialog.
There you can copy the current sheet, move sheets, etc.

Subject: Excel 2007 Adding a Second Worksheet

I'm working in a workbook that is set up by months for Invoices, and I
have several Invoices that have to be made in a particular month,
calculation is done automatically for each sheet and summary--is there
a keyboard command in JFW 13 and Excel 2007 to create another sheet in
the same month? thanks in advance.

Jaws guide for Audacity 2.0

David Bailes

Audacity is a free multi-track audio editor. Audacity 2.0, a new stable release has just been released, and a number of significant bugs have been fixed since the last beta version (1.3.14).
The program can be downloaded from the home page of the audacity website:
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

I've updated my jaws guide to audacity, and it's available here:

Hello there;

Although your right, you can set outlook to retreeve email I would
suggest not setting it to 1 minute.
Some folks have found,
Setting it to 1 minute,
Seemed to get outlook to hang, and received the error outlook not
responding.
Personally I use,
15 minutes.
You can find this setting in, outlook2010, by doing the following;
alt+f,
Up arrow and enter on options,
Down arrow to advanced,
Or you could press the letter "a",
Note, do not enter,
Just tab to send/receive.....
Press enter.
Now tab you will find the setting.

Control+m or F9 or you can set the interval for Outlook to retreave
Control+messages
to 1 minute instead of the 30 minutes that I believe is the

This is
what I did. I can't remember where exactly this is in Outlook's

you're already familiar with this setting.

Right now, the only way I can get new messages is to totally

and

2. How do I access my all-mail file in my g-mail account,

2. How do I access my all-mail file in my g-mail account, and have
that folder show up in my list of imap folders under Outlook? I used
to do this with Outlook Express on my Windows XP machine, but can't
find where or how to do this in Outlook 2010.

As always, thanks for everyone's patience.

Sincerely,

Re: Not Responding

Dave...

Robbie,

I noticed that you did not respond. Was that your point?

Hello Dave;

Well, if you go into computer;
Alt+t=tools,
O=options,

Now, shift+tab, and right arrow to view,
Now tab to the treeview,
Press the letter "s"=
Show preview handlers in preview pane
Spacebar to turn it off,
Now tab okay.
It should not come checked again.
As for outlook?
What interval do you have your messages set to be received?

As I indicated,
Folks who change this to something like 1 minute, or 5 minutes,
Seems to hang outlook,
Thus the not responding error.

that's all I can think of right now,
my brain has been on overload today,
lol.

David,

Interestingly, it happens across different applications, but most
consistently in Outlook 2007.

Even more interestingly I know that in many weeks past I had unchecked
that
Preview feature in the Computer Command Bar, but there it is, once again
checked.

Appreciate the coaching.

Hello Dave;

First, this is why I sometimes get paid the big bucks.
On to your question,
The behavior your speaking of,
Does this just happen in outlook?
Or throughout various applications.

You may want to try,

1, go to computer,

Now press alt+p=preview pane,
You should hear jaws announce preview pane not checked.
You can also accomplish this
Computer/options/view page,
Tab to the treeview,
Press the letter "s" until you hear;
Show preview handlers in preview pane-on,
Press spacebar to turn feature off,
Tab okay press enter.

Hope this helps.

I get this notification quite often now with Windows 7, having never seen
it
with XP. I find it annoying, since it usually happens during any operation
that is keeping the application static for a while, like long downloads,
pausing for mail, searching for drives, or especially during a find
operation.

If this is a JAWS message how do I suppress it. If this is a Windows 7
message, how do I get JAWS to stop reporting it?
