Adrian,

Sounds like old artifacts. First set a restore point and then delete. I
suspect you'll not have any problems.

I happened to look in my applications data folder and noticed three
subfolders with JAWS 6 in their names. They are within the FS folder, along
with folders named for versions I've kept installed. These three JAWS 6
subfolders are not empty.

Does anyone know if I can confidently delete these folders, or is there a
risk that doing so will impair shared files?

Hi,
Does JAWS 13 support Deck talk Express?

Will Dec ktalk Express work using JAWS in Windows Seven?

This is important for those with mild hearing issues.

Many thanks.

i would then recommend slimftp which a free ftp server that uses a .conf file to run it. the apache2triad package is a complete server package that contains slimftp as well as http, sql, and more.

Blank Screens in Web Browsers

Chris Smart <csmart8@...>

Hi folks.

I'm using IE 9 and the latest Firefox, the latest builds of Jaws 12 and 13 Beta, under Windows 7 x64.

On a particular Website, I need to activate the jaws cursor and move to a particular item to bring down a menu, then do a simulated mouse click on it.

This always worked fine under XP, but when I switch to Jaws cursor in either browser, I see either a completely blank screen (Firefox), or just the status line and maybe the address bar (IE 9).

I assume this is just something I have configured incorrectly in Jaws. Any pointers on what might be causing this?

It's only a Jaws cursor issue. Just tabbing around or using the arrow keys with the virtual cursor works fine in either browser.

thanks for any suggestions,

Chris

Thank you.

None of my issues have been addressed yet i.e. WLM goes to the to field when
replying to a message instead of the message body, and when moving around on
a list of contacts in live messenger you can't go back or up in the list
only down or to the left. Jaws says nothing the other way even though the
cursor does move through them. I've also been finding my computer has been
freezing a lot lately but not sure if that's an FS issue but I've tried all
the obvious things to fix it.

If so that is a darn rush for a beta product. Just my thoughts. JFW has
always been like that though. Three betas and it's out the door. FS
should release as many betas as necessary, then perhaps a release
candidate then the final release.

Re: Yes I'll trouble shoot your issue!

David <davidwhitehead1957@...>

Hello there;

Another way to do a jaws repair is:
This is assuming you already have the jaws executable somewhere on your computer.
This example will be for the latest jaws12.exe,
J12.0.1170-32bit.exe
Or:
J12.0.1170-64bit.exe

1, you first need to place the jaws executable into the C Drive,

2, now you need to press the f2 key, while highlighted on the jaws executable, and copy the following,
J12.0.1170-32bit.exe
Or:
J12.0.1170-64bit.exe
3, now we need to go to the run dialog,
Windows+r=run,
Now you can,
Type in:

J12.0.1170-32bit.exe
Or:
J12.0.1170-64bit.exe

Now, press the home key, and type in:
C:\
Now, press the end key to go to the end of the line,
And press
The spacebar, and then type;
/type repair
So the line should look like;

C:\J12.0.1170-32bit.exe /type repair

Or:

C:\J12.0.1170-64bit.exe /type repair

Now press enter, the jaws repair will start.
