As of today, Jaws 2021 is not useful as that is what I am using. So, if the new panel comes out soon, that sounds like it will help. I'll try NVDA next and if I have questions, I'll contact you off list. Thanks, Richard Ralph's Observation: It is a mistake to allow any mechanical object<>to realize that you are in a hurry. I can't speak to how another screen reader has managed to do this (NVDA is way off-topic here), but suffice to say that emoji panel is an overlay window, not really another window that can move system focus around. To support screen readers, emoji panel fires UIA property change event whenever you move among emojis, and I bet this isn't done correctly when the panel first opens. JAWS is supposed to announce emoji panel changes but it appears it isn't doing that properly in older releases; I heard reports that JAWS 2021 has improved support for emoji panel. Unlike current emoji panel design, the new emoji panel (internally named Windows Input Experience Panel) combines emoji panel and clipboard history, along with bringing GIF's. Facebook has certainly changed over the years. When I find someone I want to add as a friend, there is no way to do it. There used to be a button where you could add someone as a friend, but now that button doesn’t appear to be there anymore. Can one of you out there help me? I have found someone I want to add as a friend, but I don’t know how to do it.

Facebook question
Madison Martin
Hi all,
I was able to add this email address to my profile on Facebook, but notifications are still going to my old email. How do I change it so that they get sent to this address? I saw that there's a link to remove this address from my profile, but there didn't seem to be one to remove my old email address. I'm using mbasic.facebook.com, the latest Edge, the latest Jaws 2021, and Windows 10 version 2004. Thanks Madison

Re: Office Repair, was RE: Re latest JAWS 2021 and office 365 queries

Well, there is a much easier way to get to the Office 365 repair. Hit the windows key. Type Control panel and hit enter In the search box, type programs and arrow down once to Programs and Features link and hit enter. Type M until you get to Microsoft 365 and press your applications key or shift+f10 and select Change. Then you are at the screen where you can select quick or online repair and hit the repair button. Much easier than arrowing down through dozens of programs in the other method.

Try this for doing an Office repair. Close all your applications. Go to the desktop. Tab until you hear Start button and Right click on the Start button then select on Apps and Features . Then, tab until you hear something like: 183 apps found Listbox. The number will differ from system to system. Arrow down until you hear: Microsoft 365 - Hit your spacebar so you hear selected‑ expanded‑ Microsoft 365 and tab to the Modify Button and press your spacebar. Then tab through the options and select the one you want before hitting the repair button. Cancel Button‑ Quick repair Repair Button‑

Good morning all,
I too, would also appreciate any and all steps that relate to performing a repair of Microsoft’s office 365. I think that it would be most helpful, if any and all products of Microsoft, could develop some sort of utility that would perform a scan and clean up utility that would scan computers for any errors before the user installs the application, or program. I would also recommend that a similar cleanup utility for Jaws, so that we users wouldn’t have to go through the process of performing a jaws repair. Just my suggestion for what its worth.

Re: JAWS getting sluggish/cutting out?
Dan Longmore
Hi, Not too much you can do except be sure you have laptop on good hard surface so that air vents have clearance. Most times this is not the issue but I mention in case. If the cooling fan is not running excessively you should be fine. Like others this may indeed be a JAWS issue. Openbook, a freedom product, also does slow downs.

Hi Dan,
I do worry about whether it is cooling enough, but I don’t know what to do about that.
From: main@jfw.groups.io <main@jfw.groups.io> On Behalf Of Dan Longmore
Hi, Wondering if this may be an issue with your laptop that is affecting JAWS performance? Some areas to consider: How much memory do you have and does your ongoing work consume much of the memory? Not often but at times the computer will not clear a program from memory even after it, the program, is closed. Your re start of the computer fixes this issue. Is your laptop being cooled adequately?? Laptops, especially newer, will slow the cpu if temperatures rise. (Thermo throttling ) Thus the performance of JAWS and other programs may be compromised. Your issue may indeed be JAWS related however just a couple other ideas.
Dan From: main@jfw.groups.io <main@jfw.groups.io> On Behalf Of Cynthia Bruce
Hi All,
I am not exactly sure how to describe this, but I will give it a go. I am running Windows 10 and JAWS 2021 – the issue isn’t specific to any program. It seems that after I have been working for a while on my laptop – for the morning – JAWS starts to get a bit sluggish by times. It is slow to respond when I press a key, and it is kind of intermittent. I also notice, at the same time that the sound is less sharp – I’m really not sure if that is at all helpful.
If I shut down and restart it seems to go away until a few hours later.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Cynthia
