I slaved all day on this fixing the bugs. Enjoy it. I'm still deciding how
to approach the next items such as playlists and what not.

Hi, go to folder options in control pannel and make sure that "show
content of system folders" is marked, then go to your user folder and
then application data\identities and from there inside another folder
wich you will find the "outlook express" folder wich you need to copy
and keep that to import later after the upgrade. Maybe david can tel
you the correct path for the folder as I don't have it exactly.

I have used skype for text chat for years. if you prefer, you can use Miranda IM with a skype plugin to do this.

There is also irc if you just want to text chat.or aol, or icq, or any other of the many messengers out there.

Hi.
As I understand it windows live messenger will be closing in a couple of months.
Do you have a suggestion on another place to chat with my friends and other people?
I've tried facebook, and then using skype with my msn contacts, but this doesn't work so well.
SO, if there is another good place to chat that I can bring my friends to that would be good.

Kimsan,

Sorry that I don't have any suggestions for your internet connection
problems. One thought is to make sure you have not set your router "lease"
time to a value less than 24 hours, and that the lease should renew or reset
automatically.

Re: gold wave

Carlos Medrano

I think what the problem is that Gold Wave doesn't support the MP3 file type's header. Here's a quote from the manual:
"
Note that information is saved only in some file formats, such as .wav, .wma, .aiff, .xac, .ogg, and ID3v2 .mp3 files.
Information may be discarded for other file types. Any additional information or metadata not shown in this window is not preserved by GoldWave.
"
I'm guessing that it does support the header on MP3 files, but not the header on the MP3 file that you're trying to save. Someone please back me up if I'm rong. That's problebly why the program is cleaning out the Headder. I use Gold wave every once and a while, but I've never really bothered with the header information.

Re: updating fermware using jaws

Kimsan <kimsansong@...>

Hello Folks,
Indeed it was a painless procedure.
I went to the site that I was given, saw that it said there was a firmware
update, clicked the clickable link and waited a few.
Again, this is the first time I had to do this which is why I asked but the
main reason why I have been all over this is because of the recent
developments with my dell latitude and upgrading to windows 8 pro.
I updated to windows eight pro, the day it came out, everything is working
accept for a couple of things and I am trying to figure out how to resolve
the issues.
The first issue is I keep dropping internet connection every
10-to-15-minutes only using this dell machine but the other three systems on
my network here at home never loses internet.
The second issue is the touchpad, I used to be able to press the fn key
along with function key five and it would mute and unmute the touchpad but
this no longer works.
Lol, I should've just stayed at windows 7. I have no idea what is going on
here. I'm not saying windows 8 is bad nor anything like that btw. If I
knew I was going to have this many issues, why the bother is what I am
saying.
Dell tells me I needed to contact netgear, others state try upgrading the
firmware, which I did and I am still losing connection after a while.
Anyways, that's my issue in a nutshell, thanks to all for answering my
curious question about the accessibility for updating firmware for a router.
Take care.

If you are using the software that came with the router, it might not be
accessible. I personally hate the software that comes with the router, so I
prefer to use the web interface. Not sure if netggear's web interface is
accessible though.

hello there;
well, it's really not that difficult to update the netgear router,

1, go to:

http://www.192.168.1.1

hear you'll need to put in your information, as in, username and password.
if you haven't changed the defaults,
the username is,
admin,
the default password is,
password.

once you enter on,okay,

now tab to router upgrade,
press enter,
now you will see/hear;
check button,
most likely, when you enter on the above link, and put in the username and
password, you will be prompted,/asked if you want to update, say yes.

hope this helps.

Subject: updating fermware using jaws

Hi,

Has anyone updated firmware for their router, if so is it a painless but yet
accessible adventure?

I'm being told that I need to update the firmware for my netgear which is
why I am asking.

What method does one take to any who answers to accomplish this?

Thanks.
