Re: Outlook 2010 and Conversation View

paul lemm

Hi,

When I moved from outlook 2003 I couldn't get conversation view to work in
2010 as it did in previous versions of outlook. Another member from the
group managed to show me how to get it so it reads more like it used to.

Currently my inbox reads like below:

Conversation: outlook 2010 and conversation view 2 items and 2 unread

So it shows the subject line how many emails and how many un opened. But not
who the email is from, then I press the right arrow to expand the
conversation and then I can see all the individual emails. And who sent them
etc. and press left arrow to close/un expand the conversation

If this is what you would like let me know and I'll email instructions on
how to change it to the above

Regards

Hi, Everyone.
I know that in previous versions of Outlook you could group messages in to
conversations, then expand and collapse conversations as needed. Is this
still possible in Outlook 2010? I can sort messages by conversation, but
can't figure out the expand/collapse part.
Thanks,
Dani

Just wondering if anyone has used Flexible Web in JAWS 14 with Webmail, in

Occasionally, I have to use the Gmail version, and one has to sift through
so much stuff to get to the message, that Flexible Web seems like it might
be useful. Over Thanksgiving, I'm really gong to try to put Flexible Web

Any tips would be appreciated.

Re: braille displays

Milton Ota <mota1252@...>

Yes, you are correct in the list of braille displays for JAWS 14.

As of a few years ago, Freedom required driver signing or approval of braille display drivers from the different manufacturers of braille displays to be approved by Freedom Scientific. Once they are approved, you can check directly with the manufacturer to see if it has been approved. Check the manufacturer website for driver downloads.

HTH.

I did alittle configuring with gmail such that jaws beginnings reading at the frist message. The demo on the podcast introducing flexible wib was essentially my guide.

Just wondering if anyone has used Flexible Web in JAWS 14 with Webmail, in particular, Gmail?
Occasionally, I have to use the Gmail version, and one has to sift through so much stuff to get to the message, that Flexible Web seems like it might be useful. Over Thanksgiving, I'm really gong to try to put Flexible Web to use. Gmail and Dictionary.com are my first targets.
Any tips would be appreciated.

braille displays

Brian and Denise Albriton <autoharp@...>

In jaws 14 I see only six braille displays listed. I was half way thinking of giving my wife's braille note a spin.
The ones I see listed in add a braille display are
pacmate
focus
braille lite
power braille 40 65 and 80 and the alva
Just curious.

Re: text size in WLM

David Bailes

Hi Crystal,
the program does have it's problems.
By default, messages are sent using html, and with calibri font size 12.
You can change defaults in the mail options dialog, ctrl+shift+O.
On the send page of this dialog, after the international settings button, there's a pair of radio buttons html and plain text. By default it's set to html, and it's only if it's set to html that you can adjust the font size.
On the compose page, if you press the font settings button, the font dialog opens where you can change both the font and the size. Calibri is quite a small font compared to other fonts at the same size - verdana is bigger and very readable.

If you have any further questions, I (and I presume others) would be happy to answer them on this list.
In addtion there is a list just for email clients. I think you just have to send a message to the following address, and probably just put subscribe as the subject:
email-clients-with-screen-readers-subscribe@yahoogroups.com

There's also a free freedom scientific webinar on wlm coming up on nov 28th and these webinars are archived:
http://www.freedomscientific.com/training/Free-Webinars.asp

best wishes
David.

Hi,
I have read through the WLM guide with Jaws.

I could not find any informatiion on chaning the default font size in WLM.

I have been told that my messages have very small text.

I have tried finding a way to correct this.

I used the auto graphics labeller to see if that would make more selections available to Jaws, but no luck.

If someone has an answer please let me know.

Also, I am still having a lot of difficulty with this program, and wonder if there is another email list that might be albe to provide some help.

Did Microsoft turn a pack of squirrels loose to design this program?

I neglected to state that I am referring to adding and deleting songs to a
play list in Windows Media Player. Sorry about that.

Hi: Can someone tell me how to add songs to the play list in Windows 7 64
bit with Jaws 13? I try to copy and paste but nothing happens.
Along the same line, how do I remove songs from a play list?
Thanks.

All the more reason to install NVDA. At least that way, you will have a backup screen reader in case JAWS stops talking.

For those of us who have only one screen reader, sometimes we don't know if the program is only acting in an unpredictable or unexpected manner only with JAWS, because we only have JAWS, and we are not sighted, so we can't use screen feedback to tell whether there is something on the screen we could see or if it is a JAWS-specific problem.

Thank you.

Hi Shane,
If it is not related, I apologize. I am sometimes unsure if something is just a computer question, or, possibly, a JAWS question because JAWS isn't reading me something that I need to find.
