Just a quick question, I'm getting my Iphone next week and will be
downloading Itunes for the first time. In terms of Blind tunes, do I just
download it after I have Itunes installed? thanks

Not trying to pry, but I think they are getting rid of the sidebar. It
doesn't servie the same purpose as before or functionality. I would get used
to just navigating around without the scripts and see what you think. If you
want something easier, try blind tunes. The beta list is always going
through suggestions and reporting bugs, but I would recommend listening to
the podcast audio demonstration on BlindTunes.net to see the difference.

Jean,

Not to dicker, but for those of us who are using BlindTunes, for better or
for worse, we are directed to hide the sidebar so that the scripts work
properly.

So the answer depends.

No, you want the sidebar visible. When you go to the view menu, if it says
Show side bar, press enter on it to show it. If it says hide sidebar, then
it is showing and you're good to go. When it is showing, then you can down
arrow through music, books, TV, etc., whatever you have there, and you'll go
past the store where you hear that sound, and then you get to your device
where you can sync, etc.

Go to the view menu and turn on the side bar. Then the sync will be
back as before. If you choose not to do that, use NVDA, there is an
iPhone button that Jaws doesn't read, but NVDA does. That's the button
you need to click if you don't turn on the side bar. I forget where
that button is, but I believe it was when tabbing through from the
music choice. Just turn on the side bar and it will pretty much be as
previous versions were. You can then arrow down to your device.

Hi,

Strictly opinion of course, what methods are people using to sink
content from their computer over to their iPhone, let's say music?

This new iTunes was a pain at first to navigate but I managed to find
everything that I was looking for, accept sinking from my comp to the
phone.
Thoughts?

1. Exit and start Winamp again.
2. If it doesn't work, be sure that Trap folder and the file
gen_timerestore.dll are right in the plugins folder usually found in
c:\program files\winamp and not in any other subfolder.
I'm pritty sure that it works with the newest winamp and older versions.

2. Close winamp if it is opened.
3. Extract the contents to
C:\Program Files\Winamp\Plugins.
4. Start winamp and open the preferences window.
5. Find there Autoplay Options in the tree. You may use the letter "a".
6. Tab to see and change the different options to your like.

Hello everyone,

I found a program that will bring back your start menu in Windows 8. It is
the same start menu that was in Windows 7. It's called Start8. I really like
it. Sorry if this has already been posted. You can find a 30 day free trial

You need a second sound card like I have and set jjaws to use that
card all the time and then all other sounds come out of your original
sound card.
Just get a cheep one for 10 bucks.
Then you put the headphones in the headphone jack of the card that
jaws is assigned to and then you can hear jaws and the recording does
not.

So, does anyone know how to record an audio tutorial that when
playing
it back, you will not hear the screen reader during the recording?

Basically, what I am wanting to do is record something but jaws will
come out of my headset while recording but when I am done, play it
back, you will hear the voice but not the screen reader.

I have been toying and looking around under the play back and
recording tab in the control panel to see what I can accomplish and
sheesh, am I spinning my wheels here because nothing is working.

I am not an audio nerd, so just trying to learn something different.

Thanks.

Subject: Filter For Deleting Messages From Gmail Basic HTML Inbox Using Jaws

Hey,

I know awhile back, someone posted the instructions on how to remove messages from gmail's inbox using jaws and the basic html version using a filter. Wow, that sentence was horribly bad. Anyway, can someone post those instructions again? I can't for the love of me find them.

Hi Kimsan,

Below is the info from my recent purchase of a couple of USB
soundcards from Tiger Direct.

StarTech ICUSBAUDIO USB 2.0 to Audio Adapter
Item#: (S262-7008)
$16.60

The shipping was around $4.00 & no sales tax but, the sales tax I
can't swear that they won't charge you. Make sure that the item
number is valid if you call Tiger Direct. Their phone# is:
1-800-800-8300. Hope this helps.

Take care.

You need a second sound card like I have and set jjaws to use that
card all the time and then all other sounds come out of your original
sound card.
Just get a cheep one for 10 bucks.
Then you put the headphones in the headphone jack of the card that
jaws is assigned to and then you can hear jaws and the recording does
not.

Hi,

So, does anyone know how to record an audio tutorial that when
playing
it back, you will not hear the screen reader during the recording?

Basically, what I am wanting to do is record something but jaws will
come out of my headset while recording but when I am done, play it
back, you will hear the voice but not the screen reader.

I have been toying and looking around under the play back and
recording tab in the control panel to see what I can accomplish and
sheesh, am I spinning my wheels here because nothing is working.

I am not an audio nerd, so just trying to learn something different.

Thanks.

Hello everyone,

I found a program that will bring back your start menu in Windows 8. It is
the same start menu that was in Windows 7. It's called Start8. I really like
it. Sorry if this has already been posted. You can find a 30 day free trial
before buying it.

Filter For Deleting Messages From Gmail Basic HTML Inbox Using Jaws

Siera Ray <sieradream@...>

Hey,

I know awhile back, someone posted the instructions on how to remove messages from gmail's inbox using jaws and the basic html version using a filter. Wow, that sentence was horribly bad. Anyway, can someone post those instructions again? I can't for the love of me find them.

final thoughts on the recording with jaws issue

Kimsan <kimsansong@...>

Hi Guys,

Here is the break down.

I had a project due tonight which involved me recording something on my
computer. I am far from a recording geek, which is why I asked this question
to start with.

I can't remember exactly who said what but they said to make sure something
was the default in the recording tab and also to set the default on the play
back tab. Here is what is there when I access the recording tab:

Microphone 2 logitec headset and microphone cirrus logic cs4206a (AB 28).

Now, under the play back tab we have:

Speakers logitec headset, speakers cirrus logic cs4206a (AB, head phones and
digital audio(s/PDIF).)

I had no clue of what to set to what so jaws will come out of the headset
and not during the recording, if possible.

With my deadline creeping up, I just recorded the project with jaws coming
through the presentation as I had no clue how to set this up to my liking,
again, if it were indeed possible.

I think I will just get an external USB sound card as another list member
posted some information.

Thanks everyone and if you have anything to add to this, email me off list
if you'd like.

Take care.

My name is Jamie. I am using a Gateway Laptop with Windows 7, which is a 64
bit machine. I recently purchased a Pinnacle Mediacenter 100E usb tv tuner,
but had to send it back. The tuner didn't work because Pinnacle was bought
out by Coorrell, and they no longer support that product with Windows 7
drivers. I am looking for a usb tv tuner that will work with Windows 7. It
has been suggested to me to look in to Apple Tv with Netflicks. AS I am on
a limited income, I can neither afford Apple tv nor Netflicks. I would like
to be able to watch local programming and to be able to record some of those
shows. I don't watch a lot of tv, thus I don't have cable. If anyone knows
of a Usb tv tuner that works well with JAWS, I would appreciate any
suggestions. I am currently using JAWS 13, but will be upgrading to 14
soon. Thanks in advance for any and all recommendations.

Regards:

Jamie

StarTech ICUSBAUDIO USB 2.0 to Audio Adapter
Item#: (S262-7008)
$16.60

The shipping was around $4.00 & no sales tax but, the sales tax I
can't swear that they won't charge you. Make sure that the item
number is valid if you call Tiger Direct. Their phone# is:
1-800-800-8300. Hope this helps.

Thanks.
