Agree. I only remember shortcuts after a while of seeing them. I hate ribbons for the same reason that they hide everything in layers and layers.

try the following;
1, open word,
2, press insert+6 on the numbers row,
3, type spelling into the search edit,
4, down arrow you will see/hear, detect spelling while navigating, it's set to on, you need to press spacebar to turn it off, note, you'll need to press ctrl+shift+d=default, make sure you tab to ok after making the changes. hope this helps.

Hi all,
I am resending this with the subject line to properly indicate my line/focus...
Since I had to go and completely uninstall/re-install jaws and all components, I find the following and ask if you can help this not do this... as I add a number list, I then hear automatic spelling error. How do I turn off automatic spelling? As I arrow through the numbered list and out thereof, I hear level 1 when entering the said list and level 0 when I exit this list. How do I turn this feature off to not state levels?
Thank you for your help,

Re: browsers

Not really. It is a lot simpler to remember that something you use occasionally is in a certain category, then you just dig through that category. I gave up on the keyboard shortcuts thing a long time ago, way too much to remember and every program is different for anything but a few common tasks. I think Chromium-based browsers are obnoxious for the poor menu design, I guess that worked for somebody who thought it was efficient.

Hi Sieghard,
I have my laptop setup where I don’t have to logon. Here is what shows up in Jaws history:
JAWS Professional
Thanks,

Is this at the logon screen or after you put in your password or PIN and Jaws speaks at the desktop? You might want to check Jaws speech history and see if what was spoken is there and post it.

Hello,
I’m using latest version of windows10 and recent version of Jaws2020.
When my laptop boots up Jaws reads a string of garbage. Is this common? Is there a way to stop this from happening?
Cheers,
Kevin

Hi Maria, Once you're in the Edit field then simply press Windows Key + period (.) to bring the Emoji Panel. Select the one that you want and hit enter and then press ESC to close the Emoji panel. Hope this helps Pramit

Hi, Maria. All you have to do is:
1. Go to the document or webpage into which you want to paste the emoji. 2. Make sure you are actually in the edit field. 3. Open the emoji panel with WinKey plus period or semicolon. 4. Find the emoji you want to paste into the edit field. 5. Press the ENTER key.
Pressing the ENTER key while an emoji is selected will paste the emoji into the document or edit field.

Hi, Maria. Pressing the Windows key along with either the period or the semicolon key invokes the emoji panel, at least with Windows 10 build 1909. I don't understand why Microsoft uses both key combinations. In the event that someone is using Leasey, which is a third party piece of software to add functionality to JAWS, you can press the Leasey key followed by shift-ctrl-E which brings up an easy to navigate list of emoji characters.

I couldn't have said it as well as Brian did. Macrium Reflect is what I use to do my full system image backups of my Windows 7 PC. I run an older version 6.3 of Macrium but it gets the job done.
