No, I'm not using one drive.

 

I did manage to recover about two thirds of the texts.

Are you using OneDrive. You can try doing a right mouse click on the file name and see if you can restore a previous version.

Here's a quick way to run Jaws 2020 with its default settings.  This will determine if it's 1 of your settings that causing this or something else.

Hold down the, Insert key, then press the, spacebar, to activate the layered keystroke feature then press the letter, Z.  This will temporarily bypass
your settings and put Jaws into it's factory default settings mode.  This keystroke is a toggle so, press the key combination sequence again to go back
to your personal settings.
 
Temporary bypass using current User Settings and use JAWS factory default = Z.

Hi there, have you sent your jobs back to factory settings, that could also help in some ways. I know that’s a pain in the butt, but however that might only be the only way to restore all your JAWS settings. I hope this helps.

Here’s a thought. Switch to the laptop keyboard layout and see if you can do it with capslock as the JAWS key. That’ll rule out if the problem is with your numpad 0.

Other combinations work fine. When I press route jaws to pc, nothing happens, and jaws says nothing. However, it does switch on the jaws cursor.

Tried restarting jaws, and when that failed, restarted PC, all to no avail,

It doesn’t sound crazy at all. Keyboards can short out very easily and that’s one of the primary symptoms – some of the keys will not work. A good reason not to eat and drink in front of your computer I guess *grins*…

But before we go there – what happens when you press jaws key + minus then? Does jaws announce anything? Or is it silent? DO other jaws key combinations work? What if you turn keyboard help on—can you use the combinationt hen?

Finally, you tried just restarting jaws and/or the computer?

This might sound crazy, but test with another keyboard if you have an extra. I had a keyboard quit working with the Escape and numpad delete key. Different keyboard, back to working.
