If you have Dropbox installed on your computer,, and you have the icon show
in the Task Tray, this information is shown when you highlight the Dropbox

Mind you, if you do not have Dropbox installed on your computer, and you
decide to install it, the installation process is not very accessible, at
least, I have never found it so, and in my opinion, it has got worse over
time.

I had this one earlier this week. It has to do with the Windows 10 Braille
driver setting. You can't have both Narrator and JAWS displaying Braille.

Press the windows key, and in the searchbox type Braille. Arrow down to
'turn Braille on and off" and press enter.
Be sure the 'turn on Braille' button is off.
Tab to 'add a braille display'. Tab to 'add a Braille display' and ignore
it.
Tab again to the list of active Braille displays. there should be
two: one that says windows something or other, and one that says Freedom
Scientific packmate something or other. Be sure the windows is *not chosen
and that the Freedom scientific display is chosen.
Press enter and hope for the best.

Good luck!

Paul,

The clipboard history command should allow you to navigate across items you've previously pasted into the clipboard. Navigating with right arrow, in most cases, should move from one item to the next and pressing enter should paste the item to which you're pointing.

Sometimes, these items may be spoken in an odd way.

However, since you're a JAWS user I'd recommend using the FS Clipboard to append items that you copy into the clipboard. The default hotkey to do this is insert-Windows-C but this can be changed in keyboard manager to something which may be a bit easier to press. Pressing this key appends what you've selected to what's already in the clipboard and then ctrl-V pastes the entire group of items.

It doesn’t have any Catholic versions of the Bible, but there are several versions available.

There is also a study Bible dating from 2013 which has a vast amount of footnotes, references, and the like.

The main feature is its easy to understand modern language, and there is a vast amount of languages that it’s available in.

The controls you want to access are buttons. Navigate buttons in a couple ways:

JAWS for Windows Navigation Quick Keys B and SHIFT-B

Display a list of buttons CTRL-JAWS KEY-B, select a button, and press ENTER

Here are the steps you need:

1.   Open the Facebook Home Page www.facebook.com

2.   Locate the “What’s on your mind” button and press SPACEBAR to activate it

The new post page opens.

1.   Navigate to the “More” button and press SPACEBAR to activate it

2.   This opens a small dialog with more buttons

3.   Navigate to the “Live Video” button and activate it with SPACEBAR

That opens the Live producer. This is where you can create a live video.

Hi again, Richard and John. Please disregard my last message in which I said to TAB to the single click and press ENTER. This no longer seems to be available in notifications. The only workaround for this I see is to make sure you have notifications set to stay around for 30 seconds or so, and to click the notification with SHIFT plus Winkey plus V, then ENTER on the notification.

How can I activate this notification?

I am using the latest versions of Windows 10 and JAWS.

There are quite a few websites that offer online versions of various editions of the Catholic Bible.  https://duckduckgo.com/?q=accessible+online+Catholic+Bible

What suits one person may be entirely unacceptable to another.  It's worth taking a look at a few and deciding for yourself which, if any, meet the exact needs you've got.

You could even knock "accessible" out of the search terms and the results would still likely be so if you're looking at online Bibles.

It sounds to me like you are using the Intel Driver & Support Assistant, which does give these notices.  Once you know you've seen one, it's far easier to go to the Intel Driver & Support Assistant icon in the system tray (probably in the overflow area shown by activating the chevron) and activating it.  It then opens the Intel webpage where all "the magic happens" and throws focus to it.  Then just wait for the system scan to be done and you'll get the install button for the update/updates on that page.

Notifications are in sections, so you are probably hitting on the section heading which clears the notification

You need to arrow to the actual notification itself and not the section heading

See how that works

Me too. Just pressing enter on it does nothing but for clearing it. So, I am still wondering how to activate it.

Hi!

Every time I start my laptop, I get a pop-up notification that Intel wants to check for updates. That pop-up happens too fast for me to get to it, or I otherwise just cannot get to it to say “yes.” However, I can see the notification listed in the Action Center, but I cannot figure out how to activate it so as to say “yes”; meaning check for and install any needed updates. How can I activate this notification?

I am using the latest versions of Windows 10 and JAWS.

Thanks,
Richard

David,

A tiny postscript or your always well-informed posts. What you say is correct about the New Testament. However, what the Catholic bible calls “The Apocalypse” is called “the book of revelations” in the Protestant version. Apparently, the text is the same.

Kevin,

As a Catholic I'm very familiar with the versions of the Bible to which you are referring. It contains seven additional books in the Old Testament which were eventually removed in most Protestant Bibles, along with some additional portions of Daniel and Esther. The New Testament is identical.

I haven't looked for downloadable software containing Catholic Bibles or study material although I know that it exists but am not sure how accessible they are.

The Bible Gateway does contain several Catholic editions, including the New American Bible, Revised Edition and the Revised Standard Version, Catholic Edition. Go to this page to set your preferences as to what edition you want as your default.

Hi.

The subject describes what I want. For those who don’t know, the Bible that the Catholic Church uses has more books in it, and parts of other books have additional material, so the Bibles that I’ve found don’t have all that I want. It would also be nice if it were a study Bible, including narratives of the texts, but not necessary.

Thanks in advance

Kevin
