Re: emoji on windows 10

I am using the exact same setup with the opposite results, as in nothing, nada, no reading the Emojis.
Fun stuff.

Hi Richard,
As always, what exact version of Windows 10 and Jaws are you using? My Windows version is 2004 (OS Build 19041.388) And with the latest Jaws 2020 June update, version 2006.12 which was released on June 16 Jaws reads the emoji panel just fine, here a bit of Jaws speech history, this is when I arrow after pressing Windows Key + Period:
😊 selected. Selected contain 44 items.

🤔 Well, this works with Narrator, but not with Jaws 2020.
Apparently, the menu opens, but Jaws says squat. I can tab or arrow until my fingers fall off and nothing. But, when I hear “menu” if I hit enter, an emoji is selected.
Is there a setting in Jaws to make this work?

Turn caps lock on Press and hold windows and semicolon together Arrow over to categories and tab to the different emoji’s on the screen Press enter on the emoji you desire and it will allow you to stay in the category for multiple emoji fun
Can anyone add anything I missed to this?

The iPhone app appears to be as accessible as zoom and iPhone. The desktop app is getting better, but suspect the zoom app is more accessible. Thanks, abraham

Re: Now, I've Lost Word from my Desktop
Barbara Sheinbein
One additional thought. I have accidently deleted a desktop icon before. I went into the desktop recycle bin. I found it there and restored it to the desktop. If you ar not familiar with this, I will give you some tips.
1. Press enter on the recycle icon on your desktop. Press the letter for the word you are looking for. Example might be M for Microsoft or W for Word. 2. Once you find it, press either shift-10 or the applications key and up or down until you find restore. Press enter. Stay safe.

Hi there. Here’s how to retrieve something from the ether, especially, an icon that’s usually on the desktop. If it’s not in the Recycle Bin, you can locate it using the search field on the Start Menu, click on the item you have searched, E.G. “Word”, right click on it, choose Open File Location, Word should show up there, right click on that, arrow down to Send to Desktop as a shortcut, boom, you should have Word back on your desktop.
I hope this information helps.

Hi, Michael. Before you search for cut, search for lower audio. Once you find the Lower audio volume of programs while JAWS speaks check box from your search, uncheck this box. Then proceed to search for the word cut, and proceed as you did before. Now the speech cut feature should be available. Then, be sure to save your settings in Default Configuration.

Amazon has a 30 day return policy which I have taken advantage of at times. It’s interesting because I like the round keys on the K780. I guess it just boils down to preference. My finger tips are round so they fit nicely on the keys.

It was accessible in the past but the level of accessibility really depends on how information is added. Any website can be made in accessible when people put in information that is not accessible.

Well, I have the Logitech K480 which has the same keys. Yes, the corners are rounded, but the portion your finger is on is almost exactly the same size as a standard USB keyboard; like the one I am typing on now. In fact, if they are any smaller, I cannot tell.
Personally, without trying it, no one can know if it works for them.

Wow, I was thinking of getting this keyboard. Those things do not get mentioned in any of the product descriptions on Amazon and such. You only discover them when you unbox and by then, you are let down as it was not quite what you had in mind after having it built up in your mind. Round keys, who would have thought?

I have the logitech K780. I do not like it for the key layout. It has round keys instead of the normal square ones. The function keys do not have the typical space after each group of 4. The arrow keys are small and below the shift key. There is not the typical 6 pack keys. It is well made, very heavy and made with a groove at the top to put a tablet or phone. It does work with three devices, computer, phone and tablet. I would like to sell it.

I Think that the issue is with sound card power savings. When different devices power down, JAWS and Microsoft Windows gets confused as to which device should be used, is available etc and it seems to jump around. If enough of us report this to Freedom Scientific, they may look at it but I have a feeling that it may be tricky as it is the way that Microsoft Windows power management is working and there is little that you can do about that as you can't disable the specific device power options unless the OEM writes iit in to their software or ddrivers and they make the utility accessible. -----Original Message----- From: main@jfw.groups.io <main@jfw.groups.io> On Behalf Of Randy Meyer Sent: 14 July 2020 19:30 To: main@jfw.groups.io Subject: Re: Sound Card Question Windows 10 Rick: Yes, I have speakers into my sound blaster card and headphones into my on board Realtek audio.
