Select the columns around the hidden one, press aplications key and
choose
unhide. In your case you should select columns f and h.

Dear George,

Kindly follow the following procedure to unhide a hidden column. I have assumed that column G is hidden & has to be unhid.

1. Go to any cell in column G using the Excel Go To keystroke, CTRL + G
2. Press CTRL + Spacebar to select the entire column G
3. Press the application key & arrow down to Unhide column & press Enter.

The hidden column will now become visible.

Mr. Sameer Latey,

I haven't been following this thread to closely. It sounds like some kind of
dictionary glitch.
How annoying that must be.
Have you try experimenting with the JAWS dictionary to see if you can change
this?
Change sx to just s? But then you might get more of the letter s than you
need.
Weird.

I haven't been following this thread to closely. It sounds like some kind of dictionary glitch.
How annoying that must be.
Have you try experimenting with the JAWS dictionary to see if you can change this?
Change sx to just s? But then you might get more of the letter s than you need.
Weird.

These examples show inconsistency. Sometimes an s is followed by an x, sometimes not.

Are you sure you're ring finger isn't sometimes slipping down from the s key to the x key? (I'm assuming you touch type and that it's your ring finger that is used for these two keys.)

Re: log on password

david <davidwhitehead1957@...>

hello there;

assuming you know the password, and are able to boot to the desktop;
you can do the following;

1, access the run dialog,
windows key plus r,

2, type in the following;
control userpasswords2
press enter,

now look with the tab key to find the following;
Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer
the box is most likely checked, spacebar to uncheck this box.
now tab okay.

hope this helps.
if you don't know the password, then, the steps are much different.

Re: Speech in Bios.

Dave Durber

Hello Michael:

Unfortunately, HP has disabled the ability to change the behaviour of the function keys in their OEM version of Windows. So, like me, your friend will have to get someone with sight to do this for them.

However, once it is done, it is permanent, unless the lythium battery runs flat or, the BIOS is reset to factory defaults.

HTH

Simcerely:

Hi folks! Correct me if I am wrong, but as far as I know there is no way
for a blind user to work in Bios with speech? Someone has asked me this
question. Is there a way to have speech when booting up and getting to the
Bios screen? He is using an HP computer, and his function keys are not
working right. He needs to change a setting in the Bios settings so he can
have the function keys back. Many thanks!

Re: Speech in Bios.

Dave:

Back in the days when motherboard expansion slots were I D E, including those for video, I had a KTS braille display, which had an expansion card that allowed access to the BIOS. I also know that the Papenmeier Braillex 2D Screen, also had this capability.

It was wonderful, being able to make changes to settings in the BIOS, without having to depend on someone with vision.

I'm sure it can be used. When I need assistance with BIOS I use a VGA to

the BIOS and the USB to a computer where I talk to someone on Skype and
let him/her look at the VGA grabbers screen window via TeamViewer. Then
I can use the arrows to navigate around at the BIOS and he/she can tell

Subject: Speech in Bios.

Hi folks! Correct me if I am wrong, but as far as I know there is no way
for a blind user to work in Bios with speech? Someone has asked me this
question. Is there a way to have speech when booting up and getting to
the
Bios screen? He is using an HP computer, and his function keys are not
working right. He needs to change a setting in the Bios settings so he
can
have the function keys back. Many thanks!
