Rhonda Partain

I am checking in to a virtual call center job; anyone ever heard of Five9
Agent Application software?
Thanks.

Re: Jaws 15 - BT ear buds

Dave...

"... Wondering if anyone has used BT ear buds with a tablet and blue tooth"
JAWS-related -- arguable, but no I have not. Not sure where JAWS comes in
here. But certainly I could be wrong. I have been wrong in the past.

Actually I think it's on topic .. cause I want BT ear buds that work well
with Jaws .. I've had some in the past that work great with Windows .. but
when Jaws is running .. you get lag between keystrokes ... so that is why
I sent it here ..

Re: narrator

Dave...

David,

Exactly.
But let's clarify that you can still invoke Narrator when needed, by using
the Windows+U, and then either Alt+N or N key + Enter (OS dependent).

Re: Jaws synth appearing twice in Volume control

Adrian Spratt

To add to Bill's notes, when the three-key combination is pressed, a fast two-tone confirmation signal is sounded. The action creates a tiny file that, as I understand it, FS can access to determine the reasons why JAWS crashed. The name and file extension of these files escapes me, but I used to accumulate a lot of them on my XP system.

With JAWS Key plus F4, you need to answer the prompt as to whether you
really want to exit JAWS. Also Windows Key plus JAWS Key plus F4 actually
takes more of JAWS out of memory so that you can load a completely fresh
copy into memory.

The problem is that you are loading JAWS again when the machine is
quiet and not talking.

Next time, try this.

When the machine is quiet, try pressing the following three keys all
at the same time:

Jaws Key plus the Windows Key plus F4. When you hear a little beep, it
means JAWS is unloaded.

Then reload JAWS, and see if there is only one instance in the system
tray.

Hope this helps.

Hi: I am using jaws 14 with windows 7 64 bit. Sometimes I have 2
copies of
jaws seemingly in the systray. This usually happens after using Magic
and closing it. Later if I put the machine to sleep or on stand-by,
when I come out of that mode jaws is not talking. So I load jaws
again and end up
with 2 mentions of jaws in the systray.

It does not seem to create a problem, and it goes away with the next
reboot.

Magic, by the way, is FS's magnification program which should sync
with jaws, but it does not always do so perfectly.

Running Jaws 15 and Windows 7 64bit Home is it normal when looking at
Volume control that Jaws appears twice there? Though only one seems

With JAWS Key plus F4, you need to answer the prompt as to whether you really want to exit JAWS. Also Windows Key plus JAWS Key plus F4 actually takes more of JAWS out of memory so that you can load a completely fresh copy into memory.

The problem is that you are loading JAWS again when the machine is quiet and
not talking.

Next time, try this.

When the machine is quiet, try pressing the following three keys all at the
same time:

Jaws Key plus the Windows Key plus F4. When you hear a little beep, it means
JAWS is unloaded.

Then reload JAWS, and see if there is only one instance in the system tray.

Hope this helps.

Hi: I am using jaws 14 with windows 7 64 bit. Sometimes I have 2 copies of
jaws seemingly in the systray. This usually happens after using Magic and
closing it. Later if I put the machine to sleep or on stand-by, when I
come out of that mode jaws is not talking. So I load jaws again and end up
with 2 mentions of jaws in the systray.

It does not seem to create a problem, and it goes away with the next
reboot.

Magic, by the way, is FS's magnification program which should sync with
jaws, but it does not always do so perfectly.

Heya folks,

Running Jaws 15 and Windows 7 64bit Home is it normal when looking at
Volume
control that Jaws appears twice there? Though only one seems to adjust the
Volume.

also. I haven't tried to adjust the volume of both JAWS volumes to see if
both work or if only one does.

Re: Examples of inaccessible and accessible web sites?

To the original post:
If you're training is focused on the basics of web access, AccessIT (a project of the University of Washington) created an excellent online tool called Accessible University. It's a mock website that illustrates fundamental access issues by pairing an accessible and non accessible version of each Webpage. It can be very effective for a presenter who uses JAWS to illustrate how he or she navigates the web, and how ineaccessible design affects access to web content. It also provides solutions to common access issues for web designers. You should be able to Google it. Hope this helps.

The numbers I have for Amazon cust serv are:

246.266.2992
866.216.1072

I've had better experiences with the first two numbers but all three work.

I use JAWS 13, Windows 7, Office 2010 with IE9.

Right now I'm trying to figure out how to download FireFox to see if

Hi all,

I'll be co-presenting next week to a class of students regarding
accessibility of websites and writing for the web.

I'd like to demo some really accessible websites, and some really
inaccessible websites. Can anyone suggest some accessible sites, and
some inaccessible sites with any or all of the following issues.
Unlabelled forms
Unlabelled images
Multiple unlabelled buttons
Pages with links with labels like ""click here"
Pages with Captchas
Pages with very poor visual contrast
Websites that only work in one browser

Thanks for any and all suggestions.

Hello,

I recently tried to look for travel itineraries on Kayak.com. Their date fields are read-only edit boxes that pull up a visual calendar. I can’t seem to figure out a way to access the calendar. Does anyone know how to get around this using Jaws 15?

Thank you,
