thanks for the quick answer. Question: Wich Windows image backup software works with Jaws? I assume that recreation may not work at all - I hope it never is necessary - but creating a image on a harddisk with speech is desired. Klaus

exporting/importing settings from ms office 2013
William Windels
Hi all, I will have another computer from my company with also office 2013 installed on it. From the office packet, I use most outlook, excel end sometime the basics of word. On my old computer , I made some adjustments in the options for a better performance with a screenreader and som other personalisations.
When I search the internet, how to export that settings, There seems no solution for office 2013 except taking pictures of every screen with a group of settings and adjust them manually in the new installation.
This is not possible with a screenreader I think and compairing checkbox by checkbox is a long way to go.
Is ther no other option to transfer all the settings from one to another computer with the same version of office?
Kind regards, William Windels

an easier way is to press and hold control+windows+alt and down while continuously press page up to raise the rate or page down to lower the rate. this makes the change permanent and global.

I think one of the more recent updates to Office seemed to trigger this for me. Since I don’t’ use Skype, I think I found the icon on the system tray and found a setting in there to stop it. Hopefully someone else has more detail.

Re: Best Jaws version with Win 8.1
Milton Ota
Hello Norma,
I’m not sure if you are aware but, these days if you are doing Zoom conferencing or any other form of online conferencing, you should make sure that Windows is up-to-date and the conferencing app/program you are using is up-to-date as well for security purposes.
I would highly recommend that you look into a new computer system if your Windows 8.1 cannot be updated.

I will double check to see if Office 365 is up to date. I’m pretty sure it is, but thanks for the reminder, I will double check it.

Hello,
I am not sure if this has been addressed but from seeing your response, Norma, Have you check to see if you are eligible for upgrading your Win 8.1 to Windows 10?
Have you check to see if you have installed the updates for Office 365?
I would try these steps and get updated to properly see that JAWS 2020 is then still giving you the problems you are describing.

Hi,
All I have to go on is problems that occur when using J2020 do not occur when using 2019. They include:
Even more sluggishness in outlook 365, esp. when replying to a message
In Word 365, Jaws says “normal” when I arrow up and down through lines whether they have text or not. I spent an hour with a FS tech trying to resolve this issue and we finally ended up restoring J2020 factory settings. Major PITA. J2020 was OK for a few months, and now it’s happening again. So I need to use J2019 when working in Word.
There are other issues which I can’t recall now. And I know I’m not the only one who’s expressing frustration with J2020 problems.

The topic, Cannot copy text in Chrome, from March may hold the answer. Check to see whether you're copying from screen highlight for Internet Explorer and copying from virtual cursor for Firefox, or vice versa.

I am running the latest JFW, Windows, and Firefox.
The formatting stays the same when I copy a block of text from a page loaded in Internet Explorer into a Word document. However, when I copy a block of text from Firefox to Word I lose all formatting, including paragraphs. Is this just how it is or is there a trick or setting I can use to change this?
