My old logitechI believe was a K320. I checked out the K780 but am looking for standard layout for the six pack and arrow keys. The K800 seems to fit most criteria as far as I can tell except it is rechargeable and does not accept replaceable alkaline batteries. Frequent charging is not ideal especially when alkaline batteries often last 2 years or more. Amazingly, it does not appear that Logitech makes a truly standard full-size keyboard with num pad that accepts batteries. Was hoping someone knew of another brand/model that they liked.

I use  Sennheiser RS120 radio frequency (RF) headphones.  They have enormous range and have worked well for years.  Unfortunately, they have no microphone, so are only useful for listening.

Thanks Mike for this. I did not know this was a feature of the JAWS OCR. I tried it and is much easier than using Abby Fine Reader program. There is still a lot I don't know about JAWS.

Here's another option to use for scanning files.  I more often than not get better scans scanning this way.
 
How to scan files using a scanning device with the Jaws OCR feature.  Steps are below.  This will only work with JAWS2018 and newer.
 
1. Place whatever you want scanned with the OCR feature on your scanner.
 
2. Press the JAWS Key + Spacebar, then, O, for OCR, and press, A , for acquire.
 
3. Choose the scanner from the, Scanner & Camera combobox pop-up, tab to the, Acquire button, press the spacebar, and the scanner will scan the file using
the Jaws OCR feature.  It will then read it to you.  This is GREAT!
Note:  The shortcut keystroke to acquire is, Alt + Q.
 
To save the file you can export it to Excel or, after scanning select all the text with, Control + A, press, Control + C, to copy to the clipboard, then
paste the text, Control + V, into a text or Word
file and save.

So, when you invoke the, Insert + spacebar, then press the letter, O , then pressing the letter, A , your HP scanner isn't in the scanner and camera list?  What does show in the list of options?  Have you tried using left & right arrow keys as well as the up and down arrow keys?

Mike,  Thanks for this.  I was not aware that this was possible.  When I tried to acquire a document, I got a message saying that there were no scanners or cameras available.  I have a HP Photo Smart all in 1 printer/scanner connected.  How do I get JAWS to recognize it?

I am coming late to this thread but for me personally I have used the free Webbie based Accessible RSS Reader for years available from I think from memory the Accessible Suite of applications at www.webbie.org.uk.

It has none of the bells and whistles of some modern RSS Readers regarding device synching but I still love its simplicity and ease of use with Jaws and NVDA.

Auto refresh of Feeds was also turned off years ago to increase its stability but this is also not a problem as manual refresh is built into loading the feed articles. S .

The application has 2 columns.

You cursor down your list of RSS Feeds in one column.

Press control R on any Feed and this will, as well as quickly refreshing the feed instantly jump you into the list of available articles from that feed in the adjacent column.

Cursor down and on each article you will hear an automatic preview of the first few lines of each article which will indicate whether you want to hear the whole article.

Press enter to load the web page referred to in that feed in your browser for the full article.

Close the web page to return to the RSS Reader.

Press escape in RSS Reader to return from the Article list to the main RSS Feed list.

Then you simply start over.

Cursor down to your next feed or use first letter navigation to find the feed you want.

On your next feed press Control R to Refresh and again jump into the next article list revealed and start anew in article reading.

Very simple to use and I would be lost without it.

I purchased it from Amazon.  You have 3 keys for Bluetooth devices.  On the top far left is the escape key, then the next 3 keys are for Bluetooth devices.  You just press the key associated with the Bluetooth device paired with the keyboard. With the K480, I could not tell which one of the 2 devices it was on as it was a dial system.

I was able to get it to scan, it took some experimenting.

When you are on the Home tab, using the PC cursor, right arrow to the scan tab.

Then use the left mouse click button on the number tab and it should say scan now button.

I just gave Zemana a test drive, and what started out to be a promising program, isn't!  I tried accessing Zemana with Jaws versions 16 thru 2020 and NVDA latest with absolutely no success.  You can arrow / tab to various tabs, but getting them to open to see what's there ain't happenin.  I also tried navigating using the touch cursor with the same amount of no success, maybe even less!  This program seem to be promising, but unless I've totally went into a Zemana brainfart I don't think even I can't navigate programs that badly.  If anyone gives it a try, and has success, please report back.

I did get the option to take action on the result, it did find something it only called "client".
I let it quarantine it, figuring that if it did some damage, I could unquarantine it if I need to.
There was a details button, but I didn't go there.

Well, if it started scanning I didn't get any kind of dialogue to notify me.  Since you got it to scan, were you able to access the results?  How accessible was the results dialogue after you completed a scan?  Believe me, if this is an accessible program and I'm just not giving it enough time it would be great to have another viable tool in the toolbox.

I just gave Zemana a test drive, and what started out to be a promising program, isn't!  I tried accessing Zemana with Jaws versions 16 thru 2020 and NVDA latest with absolutely no success.  You can arrow / tab to various tabs, but getting them to open to see what's there ain't happenin.  I also tried navigating using the touch cursor with the same amount of no success, maybe even less!  This program seem to be promising, but unless I've totally went into a Zemana brainfart I don't think even I can't navigate programs that badly.  If anyone gives it a try, and has success, please report back.
