If you have a lot of files use gold wave. It does batch conversions. The free demo is fully functional for 30 days. Well, at least it used to be. I haven't used it for awhile.

Evening all,

I’m working with Perky duck and am attempting to use my braille display to write in braille and can’t. Any suggestions? It appears to be displaying computer braille only, but as far as I can tell not even the entirety of computer braille. For example,  the th sign appears as it should, but the letters don’t work at all.

Thank you,

Hi, Joseph. When I am in the Update and Security area of Settings, and have Windows Update selected, the touch cursor is not efficient at all for me. It doesn't see the Check for Updates button, nor the Pause button, even if I select Form Controls as my method of navigation.

Hi, Tom.

1. Open Settings, Windows key plus I.

2. TAB to the categories list, and select Update and Security, press ENTER.

3. TAB to the list of categories, and select Windows Update, press ENTER.

4. TAB past the Check for Updates button, and see if there is a Download and Install link.

5. If there is a Download and Install link, read your screen with JAWS key plus B, and listen to see if the update is described as a Feature Update.

6. If it is a Feature Update, it will probably be version 20H1 or 20H2.

7. Even if it turns out to be 20H1, after you install it, you will probably soon get the update for 20H2.

Don't force the issue.  Windows will send you the update in due time.  I don't know what criteria they use as to who and what computers get the updates but, if you haven't received the, 20H2, update yet Microsoft is finding a reason to not send you the update and updating prematurely could cause adverse reactions to your operating system or in other words,be a total pain in the ass!

And if things don't settle down, it will be important to know what update(s) were applied.  Presuming this is Windows 10, you can determine that in Settings, Update & Security, Windows Update Pane, using the View Update History button.  The most likely pertinent candidates are either under Feature Updates (less likely, but possible) or Quality Updates.  The "Successfully installed on" line will give you the respective dates.

Bill, you'd be absolutely correct 99 and 44 one-hundreths percent of the time.  But you can get Download and install links for preview cumulative updates and certain optional ones.  Right now on my 1909 machine there is an optional cumulative update sitting there in Download and install state, and I intend to skip it.

Always check to see what the update is before clicking a Download and install link, even though the vast majority of the time it will be a feature update.

Yes, it is, plus, if, for some reason, you are unable to pay for the SMA at the end of the two years, your JAWS won't go back into 40-minute mode, the way it would if you were unable to pay the $90 subscription.

Using latest Jaws 21 and W10 Home 64 bit 20H2

Although MS had been sending 20H2 update messages to my 2 year old 1909
system for some months, each time an attemptwas made, the update failed.
This was regardless of the many methods employed after reading numerous
articles on the matter.

A tech also had problems updating my system until a partition was
removed from the Samsung 256 GB solid state drive. i.e. The drive was
changed from C and D to just C drive.

The fresh install then went ahead without a problem although I had
previously successfully updated the system numerous timeswhen major Win
10 updates were released.

Maybe 20H2 does not tolerate a partitioned solid state drive or then
again, it could be just my system.

This USB sound adapter must have its own volume knob? and if you don't mind me asking, what was the price of this USB sound adapter? Any help you can maybe give me on this would be muchly appreciated! Thanks muchly in advance for any possible help with this.

Brian, Here’s what I found:

December 8, 2020—KB4592438 (OS Builds 19041.685 and 19042.685)

Applies to: Windows 10, version 2004, all editionsWindows Server version 2004Windows 10, version 20H2, all editions More

It didn’t say the update was or was not successful. I assume it was.

Am I the only one who got this one?

And if things don't settle down, it will be important to know what update(s) were applied.  Presuming this is Windows 10, you can determine that in Settings, Update & Security, Windows Update Pane, using the View Update History button.  The most likely pertinent candidates are either under Feature Updates (less likely, but possible) or Quality Updates.  The "Successfully installed on" line will give you the respective dates.
