Hi Pam,

Yes, I remember you and I talking about sqlplus this past summer. My team is using TOAD to access Oracle for now though, but I am prepared, if I have to fall back on sqlplus.

I use sqlplus from the command line directly on the database server or the command prompt on my PC to access the oracle databases that I manage.  I have been curious about TOAD, but a license for it is needed at my company so I haven’t gotten hold of it yet.

Actually, the only nearly accessible gui driven database management app that I know of is mssql studio, from Microsoft, but I personally don't use it, so I can't really comment.  I also know that Eclipse has some database management related Plugins, but I don't use them either.  I have reached the stage of being so comfortable with managing databases with the command line that It really doesn't bother me one way or the other.  But it would be good if someone comes up with an accessible gui driven database management application though.  Cheers!

Hi.  I work with Oracle when I have to do Database Management projects.  Unfortunately the only way to access it is through the CLI.  I have no idea about access where Toad is concerned.  I do not think there is any accessible GUI clients to help us manage databases and it's been like this since time imemorial.  Cheers!

Norma,
I am using a similar setup to yours. Mine was a bit unstable at first but, cross my fingers, it has been stable for a couple of years.
On the other hand, we tried a separarte USB card in my wife's desktop and it never functioned successfully.
There are too many variables to get a handle on.
Good luck.

How can I get Jaws and Windows 10 to retain my settings? I need to keep this setup for hosting Zoom meetings.

I have downloaded System Volume View but haven’t installed it yet. Would working with this program to set profiles for different configurations be easier than working with the Win 10 settings?

Yeah this definitely is not normal behavior. You might want to try reinstalling the sound car drivers and the USB sound card. It’s a basic question but have you tried restarting your computer?

I copied the entire help section on the Voice Assistant commands into a Word document with headings and it preserved the table structure, so if you read it and turn on the Quick Keys with Insert+Z you can navigate it with single keys, etc.
I have not added a link on my web site yet, but here is the direct access to download the docx file:

There's not a lot out there that I can find.

See:  https://support.freedomscientific.com/Downloads/JAWS/JAWSWhatsNew#Enhancements, specifically the section on that page,

New Voice Assistant to Help with Various JAWS Commands and Features.  A very short list of example voice commands is at the end of that section.

The press release page regarding JAWS 2021 is pretty much the same thing verbatim.  It would be worth nagging FS Tech Support for additional documentation on this feature.

I am also not aware of specific jaws tutorials for power query. If you are proficient with jaws, you should be able to get started with power query. I just dove in and started using it. If it seems kind of slow, be mindful of the queries that you write when you pull data. Only pull the data that you need. Write the SQL that gets the data that you need.
