I live in Canada too and assuming this would be the case. I used to deal with Richard from Frontier computing back in the day. It was great – prompt responses, great customer service, very honest and up front. These days it’s a dealer in Quebec that, not only have I never heard of, last time I bought an SMA, attempted to over charge me before I called them out, took 6 days to call back, and, though they took my money immediately, took a week and a half to actually send me confirmation that yes, my SMA had, in fact, been approved and renewed. It’s really a shame as customer service from first party (Vispero) Is absolutely great. Of course, I may be in the minority here. Your mileage may vary and things may have improved since here in Canada. I really hope this is the case.

I am by no means a defender of Freedom Scientific, but there are business and licensing issues when dealing in a foreign country that make it very difficult for businesses to operate the same way as in the United States. So, start lobbying with your government to get things changed.
A lot of companies have to deal with vendors in other countries rather than selling directly to individuals.
I don’t pretend to understand the ins and outs of international sales, so I should shut up now.

Hi Brian and others,
toggle quoted messageShow quoted text
another workaround to the broken "current folder" functionality is to specify the folder by adding an additional search term. For example, to search for mp3 files in your documents folder, you could use the search terms: *.mp3 in:documents . An alternative to in:documents is foldername:documents, but it takes longer to type. David.

By the way, for anyone who signed up for and is using the temporary license that was set to expire on June 30, 2020, the extension to August occurs automatically. There is nothing that the end user has to do to request that extension.

First, have you tried rebooting the computer? One thing
you can check is your Word scheme to see if it might have gotten switched.
Press, Insert, alt + S, to open your scheme list, if it's not on Classic or Word
classic, navigate to, Word classic for testing purposes, and press enter to
switch to this scheme. Make sure to take notice of what scheme you are
using when you invoke the scheme list keystroke in case you want to go back to
that scheme.
Take care. Mike. Sent from my iBarstool. *My body has absorbed so much soap and disinfectant lately that when I pee it cleans the toilet.

David,
That filtering option is a great workaround for the broken "Current Folder" functionality. Thanks for giving it. Anything is easier than manually going through a list of potentially hundreds of files if you really just want to select all that have a given extension, whether for deleting, cutting, copying, etc. -- Brian - Windows 10 Pro, 64-Bit, Version 1909, Build 18363 The purpose of education is not to validate ignorance but to overcome it.

Two things under this thread: First, I always download the file and keep it so I can go back to the previous month’s release if needed. Second, I am having no issues so far with the June update and am not sure what is causing the issues for the person experiencing a lot of crashes.

I am a bit surprised that FS doesn't include previous builds of a particular version of JAWS on their Web site for people who feel the need to revert to a previous build within the same release cycle. an alternative to using search or the command line is to make use of the filtering which is available if the items view is set to have the details view. If you want to filter by the type of the file, then type has to be one of the details present. By default, this is the case by default for document folders, but not music folders. However it's easy to add a type column to a details view - on the view tab of the ribbon, in the current view group, there's an add columns menu button. Anyway, assuming the view is details, and one of the columns is type, then to filter the items view so that only mp3 files, for example, are shown: 1. Tab to the name split button. 2. Using the left or right arrow keys move to the type split button. 3. Press down arrow to press the menu part of the split button. A menu opens. 4. Press the letter M until you get to mp3 file, and press Enter. You are returned to the items view with only mp3 files shown. David.

Now it won’t load for more than a few seconds before crashing. I just removed it and have gone back to the last 2019 version. Is there a way to find and install the version from April? Re: From Freedom Scientific: Freedom Scientific is extending the Free Home-Use Software For Those Affected by COVID-19
Patrick,
Such offers exist in some countries and not others all the time. I remember a time when here in Canada you had barely any access to online music streaming services such as Spotify or TV streaming services such as Netflix. They were all available in the US but not Canada just because they had not yet set it up and dealt with all the legalities involved. The same applied to Amazon, a Canadian version of Audible has only been around for 2 or so years and to this day there is no option in Canada to set up a family account where I can add, for example, my wife as a family member so she can use her Amazon account but take advantage of the Prime subscription I have. You could just as well call that discrimination, but I see little point in that because I'm sure sooner or later Amazon will have that option available. The subscription model of Jaws is to my knowledge only available in the US right now because in other countries Jaws licenses are handled by Vispero partners and distributors so there is probably a little more involved in setting this up in every single market where Jaws is available than you think. I have a feeling Jaws would probably like everybody to be on this model whether it's free for a while as it is now or not.
Best regards, Sieghard
