Well I hate to tell you this but sadly you will have to replace the rail drivers in jaws for any displays that you used with narrator because the narrator will have erased those drivers and put in their drivers

I had a similar issue with a Focus display. The support person at FS had to enable Braille support in Narrator, change the output to focus; then turn off support in Narrator.

Hi Mike,
Thank you very much for those GREAT key strokes. For years I’ve been using the insert and the down arrow keys and I like this new system.
I just tried it on an existing Word document and it worked with lots of info, but when I tried to exit my document, JAWS asked me if I wanted to save changes. Other than opening the existing document and using Control, Shift and the letter G, I did not change my original document. Are the Control, Shift and the letter G adding something to my document? I experimented with the same document and used Insert and the down arrow keys and JAWS did not tell me if I wanted to save the document. It just exited my document. Am I doing something wrong when I open up my document and using your commands? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Oh, by the way, I am using JAWS 15, Windows 7 and Word 2010.

While the accessibility is a little quirky, it's all there, and you might want to reclass some controls, but it's all very usable as is.

I have went into narrator and remove the braille components so there shouldn’t be a conflict with narrator. I also went back to braille in the jaws program and selected pacmate. I got a message saying that I had to exit jaws and re-enter so that the changes could take effect. Did this and no luck. There should be no conflict since the drivers and well as any braille software has been removed from narrator.

Well I decided to play with narrator a bit. I got my braille display to function properly and explored a bit. I decided that narrator just wasn’t for me. I attempted to get jaws 2020 to work with my pacmate as well as a very old handy tech braille star 40. Both functioned properly before the narrator exploration. Now I have uninstalled the narrator braille support as suggested in the narrator user manual. Problem is that now I have no braille on either display in jaws 2020. Any thoughts/ideas, suggestions. Thanks!!

Until the Narrator braille driver conflict with Jaws is fixed, this is going to happen.

You may want to contact Microsoft Accessibility support to at least register your complaint that the Narrator braille driver is in conflict with the Jaws driver.

Hi, Justin. I don't know if this will correct your problem with opening third-party apps, but try the following,
1. Go to Windows Settings with Windows Key plus I, if you have Windows 10. 2. Right Arrow to Apps and Features, and press ENTER. 3. Make sure that Choose Where to get Apps from is set to Anywhere.

Hello group,
There are occasions when I need to contact Apple tech support, as all of my playlists are stored in iTunes on my PC.
As a longtime IE user until recently, after setting up a screen-sharing session through the Ara.apple.com site, I would just press Control N to run the app to connect with a support person. Now, using Chrome, when attempting to connect with tech support, I receive an error message that I need permission to open third-party apps and that the app is not approved by Microsoft. There is a tab to change permissions, though pressing enter does not change the permission status.
I have tried briefly using Brave. However, after downloading it, and then opening it up, there is a lot of nonsense about earning rewards points and I haven’t taken the time to see how I can change this when it opens. For those of us who are not blessed with technological acumen, it is a good thing that this lists is in existence.

Press F6 until Status bar is highlighted. Or, until you hear Jaws report, Status Toolbar. It should be the 2nd press of the F6 key. 2. Press Shift + F10 to show options. This keystroke must be used because a right mouse click or pressing the application key will not. 3. Down arrow through the available options, and when you have found line count or something else of interest press the spacebar to check or uncheck the item. 4. when done making modifications simply press AltF4 or escape key. 5. Review your status line to insure the settings have been properly modified. Take care. Mike. With the current version of Microsoft 365, once focused on the Status bar with F6, you can indeed use the context menu (application) key to get access to the Status Bar options.
