Malwarebytes Question

Tom Behler

Hello, again.

As some of you may recall, I have successfully used the free vbersion of
Malwarebytes to get rid of some annoying malware that appeared on my main
home windows 7 computer a few weeks ago.

The free version is apparently about ready to expire, which means I'm going
to have to decide whether to purchase it for more permanent use.

Does anyone know what the purchase price is? Also, if you purchase it for
use on one computer, can you use it on another, or must a separate license
be purchased for each individual computer?

If continuing to use Malwarebytes proves to be too expensive, I may consider
switching to something like adwCleaner.

Thanks for any advice.

Dropbox Question

Tom Behler

Hello, everyone.

I hope this is not considered to be too "off topic", but I have an
interesting problem with dropbox.

I am not sure if this is a result of some sort of update, but whenever I put
my main USB thumb drive into my computer, dropbox now starts automatically
downloading photos from that thumb drive into drop box. While this process
doesn't usually create issues for me, it really is not needed for my use of
Dropbox, and I'd like to stop the process from occurring.

Does anyone know how to do this?

Thank you!

So If I understand this right once it is in window mode there are cirtain
commands that will not work in the rdp session right?

IIRC you use ctrl+alt+pause (the rightmost key in the group of three above
the group of six on a standard PC keyboard). That will put the RDP into
windowed mode and at that point alt+tab will switch between programs running
on the local system.

Do you use ctrl+alt+pause to switch back to Remote Desktop, thus making the command a toggle command.

Jaws 14, internet explorer 11 and windows 7. Windows live is already

IMDB and CAPTCHA

crystallogic@...

Hello everyone.

Is anyone here a member of the Internet Movie Database? Recently tried to sign up so I could add ratings, reviews, and information on some very obscure films. They have a pretty rigorous CAPTCHA system that requires you to solve an image not only when you register, but on EVERY SINGLE login. There's no alternative provided whatsoever.
I have slowly been making the switch over to firefox at home (I know, late to the party, but there are just still certain things I don't like about it even though it works better than iE for most things these days), but I only access the net from home some of the time, and elsewhere, iE is my only option. Has there *really* been no development whatsoever in solving CAPTCHAs for Internet Explorer screenreader users? I don't mean to sound like a bitter complainant, but why hasn't Freedom Scientific made this a priority a long time ago?
I have access to JAWS 15 on the job, but not at home, unfortunately, where I have to use either an old version (12) or NVDA. I was thinking that surely when we upgraded to jAWS 15 at the workplace there'd be some kind of CAPTCHA solution in place, but well, no such luck it seems.

How do people who only use IE deal with CAPTCHAs, anyway? This is a problem that just doesn't seem to go away.

Sorry for the ramble; just feeling somewhat frustrated.

Portability, fitting both laptop and keyboard in computer bag. Takes up less space. Gives off less heat. Quieter running. Has own speakers. That's just off the top of my head without much thought.

Re: Cannot access time or the system tray

david <davidwhitehead1957@...>

hello give this a try;

Change the Function key behavior using the Windows Mobility Center.

To open the Windows Mobility Center, press WinKey+X to open the WinX Menu
and select Mobility Center. Alternatively, open Run box, type mblctr and hit
Enter.
Goes without saying that you can also access it via Control Panel > Hardware
and Sound > Windows Mobility Center > Adjust commonly used mobility
settings.

Change Function key behavior
use the tab key,
Under Function Key Row, from the drop-down menu, select Function key instead
of Multimedia key.

In this way, you will be able to interchange, swap or inverse keyboard
Function and Multi-media keys on DellĀ laptops.
hope this helps.

The advantages are these, perhaps among others: If one suffers from dexterity challenges, as do I, the larger keys are more comfortable, The lap top key strokes are more cumbersome for one with such challenges than the traditional desk top keyboard layout. also, there are dedicated keys such as the application key, one doesn't have to learn new key strokes to accomplish.
