If you want your newest e-mail on top, Hit Insert V plus V plus S, that is
for sort. Tab through the fields. If you check desdending, the newest one
will be on top. If you check ascending like I do, your oldest one will be on
top. Tab to OK. Isn't that grand? You could do that in OE too, but I have
forgotten how, would have to fool around in it, if I had it back.

Using outlook 2013, when having emails grouped in conversations, I'm
wondering is it duable to have the latest reply at the top?

Let me give an example.

On this other list, there is a conversation with 40 emails, but when a reply
comes in, I have to go to the email in the conversation it's replying to in
order to read it.

That could be like email number 26 and that is tons of down arrowing;
however, with outlook 2013 there is the unread button to list all of your
unread emails but just wondering if what I'm trying to ask is possible.

Re: JAWS and Punctuation

Adrian Spratt

Although this method involves a menu, it isn't onerous. Press JAWS key+v to open the quick settings dialog. Then press p until JAWS verbalizes "punctuation." On my system, it takes three presses of p once you arrow past the edit field. Or you can type p in the edit field and three options appear, the second of which is "punctuation." Press the spacebar to cycle through the punctuation level choices, leave the one you want, tab to Okay and press enter.

I don't know if a hotkey can be created for this operation.

I am not aware of any way to change the punctuation level without
changing profiles. I usually have punctuation turned off but do have a
profile with punctuation enabled that I can switch to with
jaws+ctrl+s, unfortunately I also don't know an easy way to select a
profile that is not saved as the default (either jaws-wide or just for
the current application).

Re: How to get location from "File Save" dialog

Paul Martz <skewmatrix@...>

Steve: THANK YOU! Excellent post and very helpful.

I see the same behavior that you describe, while playing with this in Word
2010. ALT+N takes you to the file name field, except when focus is in the
address bar. In addition to your work around, I can TAB out of the address
box then ALT+N and that works fine. Weird.

Anyhow, again, thanks, this is very useful.
-Paul

-----Original Message-----

Once you're in the Save As dialogue, you can press Alt-D to move focus to
the location area and read it. You should then be able to press Alt-N to
move back to the file name area, but that doesn't work for me in Word
2013.
What I do is press Alt-T to go to the Save as type control, then Shift-Tab
once
to the filename area.

Thank you for contacting Freedom Scientific technical Support. The below NumPad is a popular NumPad with the JAWSR screen reading software.

The link below will take you to the buy.com website where you can get more information about this numpad.

virtual cursor by pressing control-z, then tab, or in this case, shift-tab.
I think I had to shift-tab just twice. This is in IE11 on a Win7, 64-bit

If you have Windows 7 and possibly higher, you can access the YouTube
volume as follows.
Go to system tray and find speaker icon and press enter on volume mixer.
Then tab to volume for YouTube and raise or lower with up or down arrows.

The other day I posted a query after losing lost all sound on YouTube

good one.

Several people offered suggestions, but nothing worked. Keep in mind that
I could get sound on other websites with IE11, and I could also get sound on
YouTube with Firefox. In my query, I noted that JAWS showed a volume panel
for YouTube that it didn't detect when IE11 was the browser.

I've now confirmed that the solution is to raise the volume on the
YouTube page when using IE11. Since this setting is not accessible, it
required asking someone with sight.

Re: Question about updating jaws

HAMILTON

Only if you have a Software Maintainance Agreement (SMA) for at least 1 more
version. When moving from 16 to 17 (or, 9 to 10), you are "upgrading", not
"updating"! I know this from being a long-term SMA purchaser. It's also
much less expensive.

Hope that helps.

Hey guys. I have a question about updating jays. I'm currently
running jaws 16, if freedom scientific were to release jaws 17,
would I be able to update it?
Thanks.
From Michael.

Whether you would be able to run a non-demo jaws 17 depends on your
SMA status with jaws 16. You can examine this in the jaws about
window, where it says " "Software Maintenance Agreement upgrades
remaining"

Re: MFC recommendations that work with PC and thus I can use Jaws

Woo, you're talking about some serious cash. But I'm pretty certain the color Brother MFCs come with Control Center also. Here's the cheapest one I can find:

You didn't say if you needed a printer that does color or not. I have a
Brother MFC-2740DW which comes with Brother's software, called Control
Center 4. It takes just a little getting used to, but I can control nearly
everything about this printer once it's set up properly. It's fantastic. I
haven't specifically tried envelopes on it, but I don't expect I would have
any problems. Pretty much all the controls read with JAWS. I have found that
if I create custom presets for functions, the labels that I assign to them
don't read. But that's the only thing that stands out to me as iffy. This
device has a touchscreen, but I just don't use it. I can copy and scan from
the computer using Control Center 4, and JAWS handles it fine. Note: I chose
the 2740 because it can scan both sides of a document in one pass. If that's
not important to you, the other Brother models in that line all come with
Control Center, including the MFC-L2700DW, and the DCP models if you don't
need Fax capability. I've been pleased.

I currently have a Canon laser MFC that allows me to print, scan, copy

to do many steps on the printer, which is nearly impossible to always
replicate being totally blind.

Can anyone recommend a laser MFC that would enable me to control
everything from the computer?
