Pressing the jaws key plus windows key plus f4 is the way to go as that reports the problem to Freedom Scientific if you allow it to do so.

I press windows-insert-f4 to unload/reload JAWS. Usually that fixes it.

Re: Jaws getting tired

Kimber Gardner

This happens from time to time when I'm working with remote desktop.
Jaws will become unresponsive and the only thing to do is reboot the
local computer. Or, and this seems to be happening only recently, the
keyboard will lock and rather than accomplishing tasks, jaws will
simply announce what each key press is supposed to do. Again, the only
way around this is to reboot.

I wish instead of adding bells and whistles FS would put more effort
into fixing the issues with remote desktop.

Does anyone have steps on how the above can be performed? All help

Subject: JAWS, MS Word and Word Recovery

Good morning,

I was typing a couple of documents, at the same time, using MS Word 2013.
Something happened a little while after those documents were done and I was getting ready to save and send them. Not knowing what ended up happening, I had to turn off my computer and turn it back on again.

I brought Word back up again, hoping to find the Word Recovery area, because I know the files are there. At least, I was told they were there.

I can't seem to access it though. Is there a process or key command that can get me there?

And yes.I know I should have saved way before then. There.I said it before anyone else had the chance. <big smile>

I'd appreciate any help.

Jim

I'm not sure this is what you are looking for. Maybe. ...

To create a JAWS file that will speak the column names 1. Move the cursor to
the row with the column headers.
2. Press--altogether now!--insert-control-alt-c.

this creates a .jsi file in JFW. To have Excel assign bookmarks to the
column headers while using JAWS 1. Move the cursor to the row with the
headers.
2. Press alt-m, then m again.JAWS will say "define name ...'
3. Press enter.
4. Type 'column title' and press enter.

Good luck!

I'm not sure this is what you are looking for. Maybe. ...

To create a JAWS file that will speak the column names 1. Move the cursor to
the row with the column headers.
2. Press--altogether now!--insert-control-alt-c.

this creates a .jsi file in JFW. To have Excel assign bookmarks to the
column headers while using JAWS 1. Move the cursor to the row with the
headers.
2. Press alt-m, then m again.JAWS will say "define name ...'
3. Press enter.
4. Type 'column title' and press enter.

Good luck!

Now, I want to add Hotmail to
Outlook. I was told to go to
Create Account. Is Create
Account in Outlook? I assumed
it was. It was late here last
night when I read that one,
but saved it in my keeper
file.

Bye for now,

Carolyn

outlook.com account

How do I do this?

I have these steps here but
what does jaws look for
relating to step 1.

Delete or Close Outlook.com
account

1. Sign into your Outlook
account and click on the gear
icon in the upper-right
corner.

2. From the options available,
choose 'More mail settings'.
You will be presented with the
following options:

list of 4 items

. Managing your account

. Writing email

. Preventing junk email

. Customizing Outlook

list end

3. From the above, select
'Managing your account'.
Immediately you will be
directed to a new page
displaying your 'Account
Summary' and 'Password and
Security

info'.

4. Just scroll-down the page.
There you will find the 'Close
account'option.
Click on the option.

5. Now, before you close your
account permanently, Outlook
will request you to check
'privacy and cookies'
statement. In addition to
this, it will provide

you information on - what
happens to your info if you
choose to close your account.

6. Then finally it will ask
you to verify your account to
close it down.

7. In the end, you will be
asked to deactivate your
Hotmail account. Once you do
it your account will be
closed.

Microsoft reserves your email
address even after you have
closed your account for a
period of 270 days. Within
this period if you would like
to reactivate

your account, you could easily
do so.
