Hi there! I believe you can get to the preferences for iTunes by pressing
control plus the letter K. If not, I would press the alt key, and then
right arrow to the edit menu. That is where the preferences option is
located in iTunes.

Hi, it's Annabelle.
I'm not sure if this is the right department for this question, but here
goes. I'm having trouble finding the View Options for a CD. I want to sort
the songs so they appear in order of track numbers, but it seems as though
they want to appear by name or as a manual order. How would I get to the
"View Options" dialog to fix it? I tried pressing Control+J, but nothing
happens. Also, is there a way for me to fix it so the CD appears in the
"source List", along with Music, Purchased, and all the other playlists I
have? In older versions of ITunes, Specifically ITunes 8.1 and earlier,
there was a tree view of items, the Source List, and when I inserted a CD,
the CD would appear in that source list. Now in newer versions of ITunes, I
expect it to appear in the list of Playlists, apparently the new-fangled
version of the Source List, but it's not there.

I got the same problems that you guys are reporting. Moreover working on
Outlook, if I open and email with attachments, when I press shift tab to go
to the attachments, and I press the application key, sometimes jaws is not
able to read the context menu, and Outlook stop working, then I need to go
to task manager and shutdown outlook manually.

Hi, it's Dave.
I suggest you listen to the podcasts on the FS training web site that talk
about navigating around in iTunes. There's just too much clutter in iTunes
to make it easy to give spot advice.

Yes, I've seen this behavior too. I have installed NVDA on my laptop

better way, but I don't know what it is.

Re: JAWS 16 with emulation program, TN3270

Kimber Gardner

I use Attachmate reflexion as my emulator and I used to use Passport
which I thought worked better with Jaws. Although there weren't any
scripts needed for either package, it's critical that the font be
smaller than 9. If it's not the cursor won't track properly.

Because emulators are one window displays scripting is often required to get

Annabelle Susan Morison

Hi, it's Annabelle.
I wonder if any of you fellow JAWS members would know how to fix this. When
I try to post a comment to a video on Youtube, there is no edit field. I
remember when Youtube used to be screenreader accessible all over the site,
no matter if you had Internet Explorer or Firefox as the browser. When I
click on "Add a Public Comment", that's where there are no edit fields. Only
when I click on the Reply button of a random comment is there an edit field.
Why does Google insist on messing with us members who have to rely on a
screenreader for accessibilitty?

When you experienced this problem next time, Chris down the jaws key plus windows key and press f4 to reboot jaws and send the report to Freedom Scientific. It's doing this resolves the issue, you may want to uninstall and reinstall jaws or repair it as you may have a corrupt install.

Subject: JAWS and Outlook 2013 issue.

Hi folks! I've been dealing with this issue for quite a while now, and
cannot seem to get any relief. I'm having trouble with JAWS and Outlook
2013, particularly after I have been using it for a couple of hours. JAWS
will start to perform very sluggishly, and even sometimes, I get a message
saying that Outlook is not responding. It's really annoying. Most of the
time, I end up restarting my machine. Does anyone else have this problem?
How have you addressed it?

I have the problem to some extent. JAWS might be working, but I get no
clues with navigation. I run Spell Check; sometimes that helps. I start
to unload JAWS, then hit cancel; sometimes that helps. I am optimistic
that 17 will remedy that sluggish behavior.

Do you know how to disable Protected Mode? I have some instructions, but
beyond getting to Trust Center, I am not getting to any of the Protected
items to disable.

Bye for now,

Carolyn

Can you close Outlook when you see that message, or are you frozen? Also, what is your OS?

I never got around to installing 11. In fact, given my lac of connectivity at home, it's been a while since I've downloaded anything, I've3 been taking things too and from the office by sneaker net, when necessary.

That goes for me too. I wasn't even aware of that submenu. Last time I made that change, it was under Internet Options.

Thanks. I'm glad you knew. In case Julie is still reading this thread, you get to the edit menu by pressing alt-e when Adobe is in focus.

You are on the right track. In Adobe Reader, go to the Edit menu and scroll all the way down to the Accessibility submenu and select Set-up Assistant.
On page 5 of 5, the last page, of the Set-up Assistant is a check box labeled "DisplayPDF documents in the web browser" which should be unchecked so that the web page is processed directly by Adobe Reader outside of the browser and not by the browser's PDF reader add-on, which does not always work, especially in Windows 7 and later. .

I was afraid you'd ask! I think it used to be simple, but I couldn't find the relevant setting in Adobe. If it's anywhere, it's in preferences, which you can reach quickly by pressing control-k.

So just now I went to Google. The following link takes you to an Adobe webpage that provides instructions. Basically, they say you need to go to your browser and make the change there. Sorry I can't give you a simple answer, but I hope this page is helpful and that opening PDF files in Adobe solves the problem:

Are you opening these PDF files in IE or Adobe? If in IE, you might switch to open in Adobe only.

I periodically have problems reading PDFs. I receive message that says it needs to search IE for a fix. . and then it comes back saying that a resolution could not be found. I know at one time I had to update the file associations so that it used Adobe to access PDFs. That still seems to be in place. Does anyone have this same problem or know of a resolution?

I know when the title bar states the document is empty I have to open it using the Freedom Import Printer in OPenBook . So, this is a different problem.

Thanks for any help.

John,

I had no idea you were involved with this program. You are talking about the
audio/MIDI arranging program from Cakewalk, correct?

It is hard to say. We are working on this issue with the dll file and it
is tricky with the registry. I am working on it though, be assured, good
things come to those that wait.
