It's my understanding that MS will no longer be developing IE, if that's a factor. MS's new browser, Edge, was designed for Windows 10. Again, as I understand it.

after getting things more organized, I noticed Firefox treats Netflix
completely different. It even has a more advanced movie player, not sure
if this is an IE thing or not, but it appears to have a season and
episode control to it. Everything seems more advanced in firefox and
will take extra coding to make it behave. It differs quite a bit. I'm
wondering what platform to focus on or both. I can't focus on every
browser so I think it should narrow down to firefox and Internet
explorer. IE is easier to work with, but firefox seems to have more
power behind the scenes. It works, but it is drastically different. I
don't get the same controls as in IE. Does anyone know of the
silverlight plugin being more advanced in firefox for some reason? With
sighted assistance, We don't see the other controls.
Thoughts anyone?

John,
If you can control the reading of subtitles by JAWS, make it an option. I can think of times when having them spoken could be helpful. I have always wondered what the Japanese were saying in "Tora Tora Tora."

Yes, we now have control over the player. You can play pause, fast forward and rewind, change volume, max to full screen, change audio and subtitles. Funny thing is, jaws reads the subtitles too! I don't think we want it to read the subtitles, but if you wanted to capture them it might be useful. I think this would be illegal though since it is copyrighted material. I don't think netflix would like that spreading around easily. There is now a shortcut to get to searching and settings in netflix. There is something that reports the second grouping of items with descriptions and allows you to select. Same with third group of items as well. I am still tweaking things around, but things will improve quickly as I decide what is important as a feature. Any suggestions so far?
Thanks,
John Martyn

I have JAWS, but have Windows 10. I'm forever copying or cutting and pasting. It works fine, so that would rule out JAWS. I have 10, and I believe that you said you had 8.1? Why wouldn't it work on 8.1, when it seems to work for everything, even on a Mac?

Bye for now,

Hi,
There is no reason at all why you should not be able to still cut and paste just like you always have. This must be a JAWS problem. I can’t think of anything for you to check. The only thing I can suggest is to do a repair on JAWS or reinstall JAWS. Have a great one.

I think when you open the drop-down with alt-down arrow that you have to be at the top of the column, not on the first row of data. there's something weird like that.

Hi Kevin:

I personally use Outlook 2013 on a laptop and just recently upgraded to
Outlook 2016 on my desktop. I am also using Windows 10. Until just
recently I was using Windows 8.1 with outlook 2013. Although some have
expressed a dislike for it, I do have clients who use windows live mail
with JAWS and seem to like it.
