Re: Safely Remove Hardware question

Mike B. <mb69mach1@...>

Hi Tom,

I'm only speaking about my computer, so if others have different results I
don't know how their computers react. Using Feliciano's tip, his way of
ejecting / disconnecting an external harddrive will not work, his way only
works, for me , when ejecting / disconnecting a Flashdrive. When I need to
eject / disconnect an external harddrive I open the System Tray with, Insert
/ Jaws key + F11, press enter on Safely Remove Hardware & Eject Media, arrow
down to, Eject External HDD, & press enter. You will then get an audio Jaws
message saying whether or not it's safe to remove the chosen device.
External harddrives can be labeled differently , so it takes a little
practice to get used to what you are ejecting / disconnecting using the
Safely Remove Hardware & Eject Media, option. For the record so there is no
confusion, I'm running Windows7 64 bit Pro & Jaws 15 / 16 latest.

Take care.
Mike

Thanks, Feliciano.

Can someone tell me how to access the "safely remove hardware" option via
the system tray?

This way, I can determine which might be easier.

Thank you.

Yes it is important to safely remove devices when you are given the option
to do so. You can safely remove a device by accessing the computer window or
your system tray. I personally like to access this by going to the computer
window by pressing windows key plus the E key. You can then press the
applications key or shift plus at 10 and hit J for eject or simply arrow
down.

Yes. That would be good, and I have Outlook 2013.

I just got it the weekend of August 8. It's going pretty well, just having
to learn my way.

drag-and-drop operation is so cumbersome that I see no advantage in

To create a folder in windows explorer first place focus in the left
hand tree view. Highlight the folder that you wish to be the parent of
the new folder and right click. Go down to "New' then select "Folder"
from the sub-menu. Type the name for the new folder and hit enter.

I am not sure what you mean when you say that you want the contents to
be created automatically.

I think he's referring to a message rule. I mention it because the term of art isn't familiar to everyone.

Doesn't WLM enable folder creation within the application, as Outlook does with shift-control-e in the folders list? Just a thought. I don't use WLM.

Re: Drag and drop with Jaws

HAMILTON

There is a "default" setting under "Keyboard Manager" within JAWS Utilities.
Unfortunately, I have removed what the "default" is, in my Keyboard Manager
settings, because I do not use it, and I cannot tell you what that was.

However, I would imagine that someone else will have that information still
within their settings.

Re: Drag and drop with Jaws

Bill White <billwhite92701@...>

Hi, Michal. Here are the steps to perform Drag and Drop from the JAWS Help Topics

Drag and Drop (CTRL+INSERT+NUM PAD SLASH)
This command is used to drag items from one location and drop them in another. Position the JAWS Cursor on the item you wish to move and press CTRL+INSERT+NUM PAD SLASH. You can leave the JAWS Cursor active, or you can switch to the PC Cursor. JAWS will keep speaking as you navigate. Once you have positioned the JAWS or PC Cursor in the location to which you would like to move the item, press CTRL+INSERT+NUM PAD SLASH again, and the item will be moved to the position of the active cursor.

I have managed a few successful drag-and-drops with jaws but it is always a
pain to get right. If the keyboard offers the same capabilities I will
always choose that route, even if it means more work than a successful mouse
drag would have been.

Re: unsafe sighte was: Cortana

HAMILTON

Since I am using Internet Explorer, and not FireFox, I checked again, and it
seemed to be another similar thing involving "TremendousCoupo". I finally
noticed a "close" button, and hitting that made it disappear - at least for
that time. Does anyone know how to stop this from popping up?

My settings are made to "block" all "pop-ups"; so, I would expect to see NO
pop-ups at all!.

Thanks.

Of course, if you have cable, satellite dish or AT&T Uverse, you can

Hi list,

I recently called NFL.com and was told they are still working on getting
some screen reader bugs out of their new system. What used to cost $39.95
is now $99.95, and they cannot say for sure if I could access the audio
feed. Does anyone out there have any ideas on accessible alternatives for
this audio content?
