I believe your assumption is correct, at least I took the question the same way you did. If we're wrong, hopefully Marsha will correct us. Below is the question. Is there a way, on an American keyboard, to type a British Pound sign? Take care. Mike This email was sent from my, iBarstool. Go Dodgers!

hmmm, turn numlock and hold your alt key down and on the numpad while holding the alt key down enter 156 and you when you release the alt key you should have the sterling pound sign like this: £
of course, jaws will not say anything but the symbol is there. The easy way using jaws is to use the jaws+4 dialog, the pound symbol
toggle quoted messageShow quoted text
is on that list. There is a way using the numpad but it's a pain because you have to know the character number for the symbol you want.

Adding video to Powerpoint 2013 presentations?
Matthew Bullis
Hello, I've read the directions online for including an online video in a Powerpoint presentation. These include pressing the share and imbed buttons, then copying the link. I have access to both 2010 and 2013 versions, but it seems that the accessibility in 2013 has broken. In 2010, there's a tabbable interface where you can paste the link in, then an insert button. However, in 2013, tabbing doesn't really get anywhere. Is there indeed an accessible way to get this done, or some workaround?
Thanks, Matthew -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL: <http://lists.the-jdh.com/pipermail/jfw_lists.the-jdh.com/attachments/20150718/5b446326/attachment.html>

Exactly! And I just want to remind everyone that this feature was introduced

in JAWS 16. So, if you are using an earlier version, you must upgrade to take advantage of this functionality.

For the record, something I've said especially since beginning to learn how to use a computer. There is no such thing as a stupid question. The only stupid question, is the 1 that isn't asked! Now, the answer to your question: Certain interactive Web sites may offer hot keys to perform some common tasks. For example, on the Facebook Web site you can press P to post a status, L to like a story, C to comment on a story, or J and K to scroll between News Feed stories. However, these keystrokes also conflict with JAWS Navigation Quick Keys. When this check box is selected, any JAWS keystrokes that are also defined as hot keys by a Web site will perform the site specific task instead of the JAWS command. This check box is cleared by default Take care. Mike This email was sent from my, iBarstool. Go Dodgers!
