Hi Steve,
In fact one can switch between both machines in both programs, in NVDA, it's
F11, and I forget what it is in Jaws.
But that System Access software for this task looks interesting too.
The only trouble might be if one has to pay a monthly subscription for SA,
which wouldn't be good if they have a working copy of Jaws.

Hi,

I think what you need is RIM.

http://www.serotek.com/rimandram

It is better than Tandem in several ways.

It is screen reader agnostic, that means it knows if there is one loaded,
and will tell the technician which screen reader and version. But if one
isn't loaded, then it will load a version of System Access on the remote
machine for temporary use.

It also has the advantage that you can switch between the host and client
computers, which I don't believe you can do with Tandem.

All the best

Steve

Is there a remote access software program that works well with JAWS? I know

there a way to hear the other person's screen so that you can navigate it

It will, but it won't connect to your bank directly, that was my point. I don't have to import anything with Quickbooks Online, it just brings in the transactions as they happen, ready for me to review and categorise them.

Jenni, here's the solution that might be what you're looking for:

Money Talks is a completely accessible bank account management
software
package developed by American Printing House (APH). This software
package offers the user a simple and effective means of recording and
maintaining accurate information for a variety of accounts. The user
can import and use electronic banking information to reconcile
accounts, remember the last workspace used in the program, emboss or
print the check register in a variety of formats, and print many types
of bank checks. Can be used with a screen reader or with its own self-voicing feature.

Quickbooks can do what you want, although you do need scripts from
myblindspot.com and its not perfect, even then, but it should work,
and although I have not used it, the online version is supposed to be
more accessible.

Subject: Jaws script for reporting progress bar via sounds

Hi everyone,

I tried to install some jaws scripts for reporting progress bar via sounds. The name of the script is jgauge, and I founded in this page:

https://www.dlee.org/

it’s an executable file, but right in the end of the installation process, a message was displayed telling me that there had been an error. I believe that the script is compatible with my version of jaws 2020 since the installer properly identified this jaws version.

What could it have gone wrong?

Can someone provide this same script to be installed manually?

Thanks.

Gerald,
Eudora did one thing and did it well. An analogy; I don't want my coffee maker to paint the garage, get the kids from day care and sweep the sidewalk. Sometimes simple is better. I am grudgingly working with Outlook but miss my old email client. RIP Eudora.

Why would you want to use such an outdated and unsupported email program
as Edora? Instead, try Mozilla Thunderbird, which is largely based on
Edora, and is completely compatible with JAWS 2020 and Windows 10.

Just food for thought.

Eudora works with JAWS2020, except for the graphics that should be 'read', 'unread', 'forwarded', and so on. Our ISP finally stopped supporting the TLS protocol about a month ago, so we had to give it up. But JAWS wasn't the problem.
