I believe I have seen the keystroke for getting to desk top but cannot find
it now. When I minimize, I get start menu first and then desk top, and wish
to go straight to desk top. Does anybody know what this shortcut is?

Re: office 365

Niall Gallagher <nialljg91@...>

Hi,

I clicked on the link in my previous email, and it brought me to a generic
Outlook login.
I inserted my student username and password, and I was logged into the lite
version of the email interface.

If your account is similar to mine, which I think it is, you should be able
to follow the steps in the below link to activate the more accessible view

http://tinyurl.com/qzvs2y7

Due to the differences in our time zones, it is night time here in Ireland.
So I probably won't see your reply for 9 or 10 hours, but let me know how
it goes.

Kind regards,

Niall

There is also an Outlook app for iOS which might work.

But the key that's missing is the "Windows" key. So, instead of doing a Windows plus D or M to jump to the desktop, I have to control plus escape for the start menu, then escape for somethingf, gthen tab until I get a desktop. Is there a better way? Thanks.

Re: keystroke in outlook 2010 to add sender to contacts?

Carolyn Arnold <4carolyna@...>

If it comes from the mailing list, I see that it copies the list. I checked
on this one of yours, and your address was not with the mailing list or in
the cc, although your name was. It seems like I had one that did have the
name and list. That was when I learned the first way to hit Control 1 to go
to the from line, then copy it, then take out less and greater signs, stuff
like that, then go to Contacts and put it in the regular way, going through
the fields entering name, then e-mail address.
Best from,

Carolyn

When you get an e-mail, outside it, say it came from
sonny@bellsouth.net, you press Control C, which is to copy. Then you go
to Contact and press Control V, which is to copy - then you'll have Sonny's
e-mail address.

The good thing about the older harder way, I think, is a little more

Your address is in my contacts, which I will delete, but my

I do SHIFT + TAB back to the From field. Once I get there, I hit

It
works, but it'd be nice if there was a better way.

I imagine this would make a nice beginning JAWS script project.

Press Escape to go outside message - Control C, then go to Contacts. Hit
Control V, and I believe you Enter twice. Once after Control V and once
again when asked to you want to save the new contact.

Yes, Kim. Here is what I did here. I escaped this message. Then I pressed
Control C. Then I went to Contacts and pressed Control V and Enter. It asked
if I wanted to add the contact; I said yes. I went back to Inbox, then back
to Contacts, arrowed down, and there you were. I deleted you, because you
were with the JFW list.com.

The good thing about the older harder way, I think, is a little more

In the case of my student email, I login via outlook.com/studentmail.ul.ie.

Maybe you could replace my information with what is after the @ sign in your email address.

Do you access your email via outlook.com?
If so, there is a lite version of the email interface which is just check

There is also an Outlook app for iOS which might work.

Hope this helps.

When you get an e-mail, outside it, say it came from sonny@bellsouth.net,
you press Control C, which is to copy. Then you go to Contact and press
Control V, which is to copy - then you'll have Sonny's e-mail address.

office 365

Kimsan <kimsansong@...>

At my job, we switched over to office 365, using the web based email I'm
unable to quickly navigate through the interface.

I can't remember what we used before lol, but I used to be able to sign in,
press x, to navigate from checkbox to checkbox and there was a link for the
subject, click it, read it, reply, rinse and repeat. Now I'm clueless!

All I can do is navigate heading-by-heading, and at times I get lucky, am
able to open up an email, but there is when the fun begins. Reading the
email, trying to forward, reply, even locating the send button is a chure!

I work for the school district, so I'm off for the summer and they just
switched over to office 365, and I'm trying to check emails from home to get
info about the possible strikes the teachers are preparing for. Any tips on
how to resolve this email issue?

Thank you!

When you get an e-mail, outside it, say it came from sonny@bellsouth.net,
you press Control C, which is to copy. Then you go to Contact and press
Control V, which is to copy - then you'll have Sonny's e-mail address.

I do SHIFT + TAB back to the From field. Once I get there, I hit

It
works, but it'd be nice if there was a better way.

I imagine this would make a nice beginning JAWS script project. If

It works! Smooth as silk. I don't even have to open the email, or press
control-n for new contact. Awesome!

OK, Keith. If I hit escape, I'm outside your message. So,
right there, I hit Control C; then Control 3 (to get to Contacts); then
Control V to paste in the new address. I think that in a list like
this, it is better to do it the old way to Alt 1 to the To field, copy
it, start a new e-mail just to have a place to get out the < and > and
list
stuff, just get yours.
But if you get an individual one, or you can even try with mine to
Escape, then hit Control C, then Control 3, then Control V. Then you'll
have the e-mail address. I did it with yours, and then deleted it;
somehow or other I deleted it twice, but it's out. Anyway, that is one
way that it can be done in Outlook 2013.

The good thing about the older harder way, I think, is a little more
control of the data.

Carolyn

Ann, I did as I was instructed yesterday - went outside your message,
hit Control C for copy, then Control 3 for Contacts, then Control V for
paste.
Your address is in my contacts, which I will delete, but my instructor
told me to practice what he taught, so I did that one. It definitely
works in Outlook 13 and is so easy! I hope it will work for you.

Carolyn

I tried everything. would you believe it just doesn't show up in my
Office
2010 Professional? But I do know how to shift-tab to the from field
and copy and paste. (LOL) At 10:02 PM 8/20/2015, you wrote:
Ann,

Just to be sure, did you use the applications key? The "add to sender"
option doesn't appear in the right-click menu. It's one of those
cases when they aren't identical.

Also, did you try Paul's later suggestion of going to the "From" field?

That it's in the applications/context list means it's an MS control,
not a JAWS command.

Add to sender isn't an option on my computer. Rats!

Paul,

You can go right into the "To" field by holding down the alt key
and pressing 3 (number row above the letters) twice quickly. Each
of the other numbers 1 through 6 take you into one or other field
(1 for "from," etc.).

I do SHIFT + TAB back to the From field. Once I get there, I hit
the application menu and select the "add sender to outlook contacts"
option.
It
works, but it'd be nice if there was a better way.

I imagine this would make a nice beginning JAWS script project. If
I put this together, I'll post about it.

Re: mark list boxes

Lisle, Ted (CHFS DMS)

You should be able to alt-tab from any open app to any other open app. If it's not behaving that way, something is wrong.

Jaws is so slow in announcing which application it is on, when doing alt tab.. So I asked how I can gain focus in those list boxes.

Thank you for your suggestion/help!

Hello Mark,

You select your desired running application, in Windows 10, the same
way you do/did in Windows 7 and/or Windows 8. That is to say, you use
key-combo
Alt+Tab to bring up the running applications switch-to dialog box
Alt+then,
without releasing the Alt key, tap the Tab key to change application focus.
When you hear the name of your desired application, simply release all
of the keys.

How do you go through a list box?
When I alt tab I hear running applications, how many are in the list,
the name of the focus application, but I do not know how to go through
the list so I can open up the desired program.

Thank you for your help.

Re: jaws shutting down

Mario

Judith, I recently had this happen to me, and it is not a problem with JAWS. I suspect your computer is set to sleep after 30 minutes of inactivity and you're required to login as a user or admin with a password before JAWS will speak. these are controlled in the power options in the control panel.

reboot from same. I have windows

left the computer millions of times and had no problem. Does anyone
know what's going on and how to remedy the situation? Thanks, Judith
