In Edge and I think Chrome with most if not all executable files you are being blocked from completing a download unless you tab around to the Keep button in the download bar alongside the warning that this type of file can harm your computer. It used to be enough that you hit the keep button and then the keep anyway button after the further warning message. Now annoyingly on my version of Edge anyway you now have to complete 3 steps. First of all hit the keep button. Then when the next message warning comes up hit the show more info button and finally hit the keep anyway button after yet another warning screen. . You may have to keep tabbing around to find these buttons. I suspect that Microsoft are doing this because they want to channel users to their Store app in the same way Apple does. I am going to go off to see if I can disable this level of nagging obstruction, making you hit a keep button after a warning is fair enough but 3 confirmations now is over the top. David G.

It is a layered keystroke. Insert+spacebar, then p. Here are the helps if you do insert+p then question mark. The following commands are available in the Picture Smart layer. Acquire and describe an image from a Scanner or Freedom Scientific Camera such as PEARL, using the letter A. From Windows Explorer, you can describe any image file using the letter F. From the computer screen or application, you can describe a Control with the letter C. An image on the clipboard can be described using the letter B. An image can be described by saving it to the "PictureSmart" directory in your User's "Pictures" folder

This goes back to something i posted here before. I have a buffalo link station ls440 nas device. Whenever you need to shut it down, you are asked for a 4 digit number. This is displayed on the screen as four images. However, the alt attribute for each of these numbers is “number_1” “number_2” etc. This alt attribute is assigned when the confirmation number is asked for. So, if you try to shut it down you could get a number like 1234. The next time it could be 4321. However, the alt attribute always remains at “number_1” “number_2” etc. Therefore, you don’t know what number is actually displayed. Tried custom label, graphics labeller, hight and width of graphics, show hide tagged etc. Nothing works. However, by examining the element in my browser, i have determined, that the actual image file is the actual number. e.g. if the first number being displayed on screen is the number 6: the img tag will be: <img alt=”number_1” src=”num6.jpg”> So, if i could force jaws to read the actual name of the file, it would indicate to me what the four numbers actually are. I have tried every setting i can find both in the default application settings and the browser specific settings in relation to graphics. Nothing works!! This is the same for jaws 2018 and 2020. Jaws has a scripting language. Has anyone ever used this to force something? I have programming experience, but i haven’t had the need to script anything for jaws yet. Yes, I had to do that the other night to look at a site I was interested in. Even after you download the cookie, in Chrome, you have to at least whitelist their site because the security settings won't otherwise allow it to work. I do get their point that audio captchas still leave people out that can't hear or see, but having to save an email message around to get one of these whenever you encounter it is madness anyways.

I’m using the most recent version of windows10 and Jaws2020.
I went to the site checkpeople.com. At times after I enter my user id and password I’m taken to what is called hCaptcha. There is an imiage on this page I need to see what it is. Is this something Google Chrome is now using?
Support at checkpeople.com didn’t seem to know about hCaptcha.

My understanding is that if you save the meeting chat, the host can see everything including private messages. As host, I have never seen messages between attendees when they happen.

You could check your Security settings, but no matter which setting I used to download the Jaws file I didn't get any of my downloads blocked. When you get a blocked download I believe that if you tab you'll find a More actions option that can be opened and I believe you'll have an option that you can press enter on to download anyways if for any download that Chrome is identifying as possibly being bad. Below are steps to check your download and other security settings.
Open Chrome and press, Alt + F, to open the menu and up arrow to Settings and press enter.
Down arrow to, Privacy and Security, press enter.
Tab to, Security link, press enter.
Tab to a group of 3 radio buttons, it's about 3 tabs after pressing enter on, Security link. These 3 radio buttons are, 1. Enhanced, 2. Standard and 3. No protection.
If you change a setting it takes place immediately, but personally I would close and restart Chrome to make sure.

Example if 2 of the participants are making fun of the host via text messages, cannot he or she see it. Not that I’d do it. Odd new behavior with selectable controls on Web pages

I haven't yet figured out whether this is a JAWS problem or a browser problem, but it happens in both Firefox version 79.0 and Chrome version 84.4147.105, both the latest version for each browser. If I open a combo box or radio button to select something, I can't close it and move to the next control. I've noticed this happens on Amazon and groups.io. Has anyone else noticed this, and if so, what's the workaround or fix?
