In case anyone on this list knows the answer to my problem, I’ll post it here:

This morning, every word file I tried to open first gave me the message, office Updating, please wait. Then, I got the message  WinWord error, cannot launch.

Thank you for any help—especially with the phone number of Microsoft accessibility line.

Hope your day is going well.

Hi, Stan. No. Don't download the paid version. I'll post a link for you to only download the free version.

Now, do I get this right? I will download the 7 day free trial of the Pro version. After 7 days I will decline the pro version and the free reader Is left.

I found this a bit confusing.

The only thing I would advise is that, when you download Adobe Reader, unless you explicitly want any of the bundled software, uncheck the following items before downloading,

install the free McAfee Security Scan Plus utility to check the status of my PC security. It will not modify existing antivirus program or PC settings.

install McAfee Safe Connect to keep my online activities and personal info private and secure with a single tap.

Install the Acrobat Reader Chrome Extension By checking the above, I agree to the automatic installation of updates for Acrobat Reader Chrome Extension

I was working with someone who worked for another blindness company and the person asked me if I had a sighted person who could help. I told them that if they were a blindness company who didn’t know how to work with a blind person they shouldn’t be in the field. I know that was very rude and I am rarely rude like that. I just find it amazing that people who are hired by these companies don’t have a clue how to use better words to communicate.

Shirley, like most agencies there are good agents and some that should be working somewhere else.  I’ve had some real darlings when calling the MS help desk.  One in particular kept phoning me when I was expecting a call from a higher department.  Then there was the one who said constantly, “You see the yellow X at the top of your screen, click on that.” I thought and almost vocalized, “What part of I’m blind are you not getting!” Thankfully these experiences are few and far between.  I’m also glad I read the post below this because I was going to give you the phone # you wanted.

It turns out the person who helped me before did not take out my previous Office. So Office 2019 was competing with my prior Office 2016, which already had issues.

Now it’s gone. I only have Office 2019.

I’m so glad for MS disability help line (or whatever they call it now).

And thanks to everyone else who responded. I had a file I had to deal with immediately, but couldn’t get to it. It’s all good now.

After the e-mail is sent, Outlook should edefault back to the normal importance level.

Hi Rick,

I don't know Jesus Christ as Savior, but I'll give it a shot.

First, did you go to the address bar and take out the WWW and replace it with mbasic

?

The mbasic page is much easier to use.

You just do alt D and press home, and right arrow past the WWW and back space it out and replace it with mbasic and press enter.

HTH.

Using JAWS, how do you go about finding your memory page on Facebook?  In the directions it says to go to the main menu on the left side of the page and then select On This Day, but I do not, nor can I figure out, how to do this using JAWS.  Can a good Samaritan out there who knows Jesus Christ as Savior step in and help me?

My preferred method is to hit alt enter, which opens a small dialog box of message options. You are immediately placed in a combo box for message priority, Arrowing down once gies you high priority, then you just hit enter and it’s all done.  If you tab, you can get to options for marking the message as private, requestin a read receipt and a couple other things I never use.
