You are correct.
I'd simply download a fresh copy of the installer from the official download page: http://mp3gain.sourceforge.net/download.php <http://mp3gain.sourceforge.net/download.php>

Hi again,

In device manager, find the adapter in the network adapter pull out window
and go into its properties and on the last tab there is a checkbox asking
you whether you want the computer to turn it off if you want to save power
consumption. You do not want the computer to turn it off at all. HTH

Hi,

I don't know if this has been already mentioned, but have you checked if the
USB port that the adapter is plugged into is in power saving mode. You can
check for that in your device manager

To automatically resize column width in Google Sheets to fit text, follow these steps:

  1. Select the column(s) that you want to fit to the text inside them
  2. Right click at the top of a selected column, then click "Resize column…"
  3. Click "Fit to data, then click, "OK"
I'm sorry, but there is no excuse, none, for a screen reader user not to be able to translate "right click" in a sighted set of instructions to "bring up the context menu by the method of your choosing."

Click resize column.  Gain focus on resize column control and activate.

Click "fit to data."    Gain focus on the Fit to data menu option/radio button/checkbox/whatever control, and activate.

Click OK button.  Activate OK button.

Etc.

If you cannot do the direct translation from typical point and click to its exact keyboard equivalent then it's time to learn.  It was long ago time to learn.

There is nothing in those three steps that any screen reader user should not immediately understand and be able to do.  It's not rocket science.

I do understand. I have a hearing loss myself and when I’m watching movies or listening to audiodramas, especially old ones, I tend to use equaliser settings to bring out more of the high frequencies in dialogue. As for the Eloquence synth, it’s top “resolution’ if you want to call it that is 11khz roughly, and the rule of thumb is that you get half that in terms of top-most frequency audible, so around 5.5khz, which is still *(supposed* to be above the frequency of most connsonants, but in practical terms, your ear can probably still discern that something is missing.

I still think Eloquence is the best synth for everyday computer use because it’s more concerned with smoothness and practical use than actual pleasurable reading. I don’t set it to speak very fast, myself, but still much faster than Vocalizer, whihch, as it’s taken from actual human voice samples, sounds like absolute garbage speaking any faster than a person can speak. However I do switch to vocaliser when I want to listen to a book “on the go” or something with my bluetooth headset. Otherwise though I just stick to refreshable braille most of the time.

Hello.

Yes, synthesizers try to guess context, if they just pronounced words, they wouldn't work near as well.  It becomes obvious when they guess wrong.  May I ask why you are using the compact version of the voice?  These are always inferior to the real versions, and most hardware won't have trouble with the full one.

MP3Gain analyzes mp3 files to determine how loud they sound to the human ear. It can then adjust the mp3 files so that they all have the same loudness without any quality loss. This way, you don't have to keep reaching for the volume dial on your mp3 player every time it switches to a new song.

I couldn't find a script for jaws oncontinuum.net. They do have an app called Hope that is a stand alone player. I did buy it and it works fine so far.

Subject: Using Pandora with JAWS

Hello everyone,

I am helping a person to learn to use JAWS. She would like to use Pandora
to listen to music. She is running JAWS 2021 with Windows 10. We
downloaded the Pandora App and it appears somewhat usable but has limited
ease of access to the controls. I am wondering if there is a list of usable
hotkeys for this app, or if there may be a script that I can acquire that
will help her make this more usable?

Thanks much for any assistance that you can provide.
Roger

Hi Jim,

Once you’re in Outlook and have pressed JAWS key+f1 twice quickly, the Outlook help topic will be highlighted in  the JAWS help system.

You then need to press enter, then f6.

You will land in the contents of the Outlook help topic and can select the "Helpful hints" from there.

Cheers,

Ed

Edward, I tried what you said to do, and it didn’t work. I found outlook on the list, and when I hit enter, nothing happened. So I tried My application key and still nothing. How do I find outlook helpful hints? Jim

Hi Jim,

As far as Outlook is concerned: Open Outlook, press JAWS key+f1 twice quickly to bring up the Outlook help topic and select "Outlook helpful hints."

This will run through what you need to set/change.

Cheers,

Ed

I always try to use JAWS with the full version of Outlook, and to configure it in a certain way (e.g. no preview pane). Is there an accepted optimal way to configure Outlook to work with JAWS? Or does anyone have any specific tips that make Outlook work well with JAWS?

Also, would anyone advise using the built-in Windows Mail client with JAWS? I have problems using tab and F6 to navigate through everything, but I'm wondering if I'm missing something.

Jim
