Yep.

That being said, there are also two classes of fillable PDF forms:  those that allow you to save the forms with the material you've filled in (see: IRS forms), and those that do not allow you to do so, only to print the filled form and once you close it, the filled in material is discarded.

Which of the two you have is a design choice by the creator.  I also never recommend trying to convert a fillable PDF to MS-Word format, at least if you haven't already filled it out.  The conversion issues I've witnessed over the years (including this afternoon, but for a non-fillable PDF converted to MS-Word format) are myriad.

You are incorrect. Both the sighted and visually impaired can fill out properly designed PDF forms on the computer. The IRS uses many PDF forms that can be filled in just fine on one's computer.

If you are interested, would you like to join me in a Zoom meeting, and I will show you how I can do that, with no visual assistance. In addition, I will show you, how easy it is to create an image of a system drive for one of my systems, using the abovementioned software.

Thanks to all of you for your suggestions regarding accessible backup image software.

I am not an advanced assistive technology computer user, so I need to be careful in terms of what I choose to do here.

But, these suggestions have given me a lot to consider, and I’m saving them for future reference.

I will continue to read additional contributions to this thread with interest, and I hope they help others as well.

Jenni,

I hate to comment on fonts used by posters especially on a visually impaired list but since this issue was raised the other day in another thread, I'll point it out. The font in your message below appears to be some sort of italicized script font and if anyone is using sight to try and read it, I expect they are going to struggle.

2, press insert+6 on the numbers row,

3, type spelling into the search edit,

4, down arrow you will see/hear,

detect spelling while navigating,

it's set to on, you need to press spacebar to turn it off,

note, you'll need to press ctrl+shift+d=default,

make sure you tab to ok after making the changes.

hope this helps.

Subject: automatic spelling and level announcements/notifications

Hi all,

I am resending this with the subject line to properly indicate my line/focus...

Since I had to go and completely uninstall/re-install jaws and all components, I find the following and ask if you can help this not do this...

as I add a number list, I then hear automatic spelling error. How do I turn off automatic spelling?

As I arrow through the numbered list and out thereof, I hear level 1 when entering the said list and level 0 when I exit this list. How do I turn this feature off to not state levels?

Thank you for your help,

Rick

Yes, everybody wants your mind these days, for sure. It's not the data they want, it's the experiences they can cause you to have once they get the data. If those aren't in line with what you want, then be careful.

Go into Quick Settings and make sure

Outline Level Indication is unchecked‑

What needs to stop the level messages from Jaws reading them?

Works well, except for all the data it collects, they make Google look like a privacy watchdog.

Which is precisely the opposite of what's happened with the transition to Chromium-based Edge.  They've gone from a "definitely not ready for primetime" mess of an in-house "let's reinvent the wheel" browser to something that works beautifully.

I also don't get where the "screwing up anything they do" comes from, but everyone is entitled to their opinion.
