Marvin,
If it does not come up talking, try plugging in a thumb drive with NVDA, and try a few drive letters in the run window, like:
e:\nvda\nvda
or f:\nvda\nvda
You just need to put a portable copy onto a thumb drive in a folder called NVDA.

Hi. Some one on the audio games net site did have windows 8.1. talking win pe.

Where do I download it. Got the windows 7 talking pe, and then when I try to install via my external drive, says the file  is incompatible.

Can any one help. So either need the windows 8.1 or the windows 10 talking iso. Did try setting up the blind help project, and got the 64 bit version. And then waited for five or ten minutes. No speech came up. With the win 7 version, it does come up. So need this either for 8.1 or 10. Any one got this.

Sorry.

Have tried googling. And also how do I contact the owners of the audio games site. Did try to contact them, but they either don’t have an e-mail address or a form.

Thanks.version

if JAWS is set to load as a service after Windows starts (JAWS is found in the system tray):

insert+j calls the UI for JAWS.

the first item should be the options submenu.
either press enter or the right arrow to open.

if JAWS is set as an application (JAWS is found in the task bar (alt+tab keystroke)):

insert+j calls the UI for JAWS. then press alt to activate the menu bar.
the first item should be the options submenu.
press enter to open. and proceed as you want.

There is no upgrade path from Windows 7 to Windows 8, and never has been.   It must be installed from scratch, and you must acquire a license key for it.

The only free upgrade path was from Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 to Windows 10.

Personally, unless they're paying you, I'd refuse to install Windows 8.1 at this point.  It makes absolutely no sense to do so.

If you have an actual disk installer of the actual version you need, you just need to inject the boot.wim and install.wim into the proper folder in the WainPE you are trying to use.
You can find those two files on the current win 10 winPE that you are currently working with, and those are the two files that you need from a copy of what you are hoping to install.

Hi Ralph,

Here, I am really happy with my Trkez Air from Aftershokz. Get a description of it behind this link:
https://aftershokz.com/products/air?variant=5304364204069

I admit that bone conduction technology may appear quite disruptive but since it is very responsive with all the screen readers I'm used to, and with my Android smartphone, the only reason why I am still using regular headphones is when I want to listen to music.

The 6 hours battery life is when you use it for continuous audio streaming but in regular screen reader use conditions, I can keep it running 8 hours or so without needing to recharge it. I bought it two years ago now and the battery is performant enough yet.

Finally, although the option to avoid Bluetooth connection cutoffs while running Jaws 2020 is definitely an enhancement, my Trekz Air remains still useable with this option turned off. However, since turning it on does not seem to significantly drain the battery more than before, I always keep it on on my laptop.

HTH, Have a nice day. Chris D

Hello,
You will have to activate the "trim button" that lies above split
button and not the trim slider.
On activating trim button few more options will appear in the same
window those controls are
Start trim slider and end trim slider and few others.
You can adjusts the slider with left/ right arrow keys. Jaws informs
the time for seconds and mili seconds for the video is trimmed.
After adjusting the slider hit the done button and then you can listen
your trim video by hitting play button so as to check whether it is
trimmed correctly or not.

Hi,
Yes, you can do.
After keeping the long video in story board navigate to controls like
"start trim and end trim. If you want to trim the beginning portion or
end portion you can use these controls. for trimming the video in
between you will have to explore as I haven't done this therefore I am
not aware of it.
After trimming
the video you can check by activating the play button and once done,
activate "finish button" Inside the window, activate "export button"
and choose a location to save the file.
Your trimmed video will be ready and your original file will be
available in the collection tab of the photo app.
Hope this is helpful.

Hello,
You may try Microsoft Photo app.
I am not clearly sure about the accessibility with Jaws but I tried with
Narrator and it is working quite good.
If Narrator is accessible then of course Jaws will be.
Steps:
1. Open Photo app from start menu.
2. Navigate to new video menu and select blank video and hit enter.
3. Give a name to your video and hit ok button.
4. In the next window activate add button > from this PC and select the
file
you want to upload.
(Note: You will have to upload the files one by one).
5. After adding all the files in the window select the files in the order
you want to keep . Remember, the last file that you uploaded is selected
by
default therefore you will have to unselect it so as to manage the
correct
order of your video.
6. Now navigate to "place in story board" and hit enter. Now all the
files
are placed in story board in the order in which you have selected.
7. You can choose play button to listen to your merged video . You can
also
explore the options like background music, 3D effects and so on if you
want.

8. If you want you also try the trim option to trim your video in case
you
need.
9. Now go to finish button and hit enter.
10. In the window, select export . Choose file dialog box will appear
select
the location where you want to save the file. Your exporting will begin
and
once done the created video will play automatically.

You can do many things, when you use a WPE or TWPE

Completely erase a system drive, which, obviously, you could not do, if you wer running a session of Windows.

You can use a 3rd party software package to restore a backed up image of a system drive, created by, for example, Macrium or Image for Windows, again, you cannot do that, if you are in a Windows session.

Have you tried pairing them with your laptop?  I know I got a nice pair of earbuds from amazon with a built in microphone.  Although paired with my XR, I’ve not tested them with my laptop as, frankly I never saw the need.   I use my XR when out in the backyard with the dogs and on a call.  The XR sits in the holder for my iPhone in the lawn chair while I am walking around the yard checking up on the dogs. With the built in microphone I hear the person and they can hear my response to their comment. Whether there is Bluetooth headphones that can be paired to more then one device, I don’t know.  Thus your enquiry.

Check around for the h800 at Best Buy, Target, Amazon, etc.
I paid $62 at Best Buy.
Good headphones using the wireless USB with the laptop and the bluetooth with my iPhone.

Are there any Bluetooth headphones that are responsive enough to use with my laptop?  It would be a bonus if the same ones worked well with my iPhone XR.

Thanks.

How do you set the beginning point and end point of the trim? Where are the controls you speak of? All I could find were sliders that didn't want to move very quickly.

Hi,
Yes, you can do.

Hi, Swati. This is really good info. I have a question. Is it possible,
using this program, to mark a particular portion of a long video and create
a new video file using what the part you extracted?
Thanks!

Hello,
You may try Microsoft Photo app.
4. In the next window activate add button > from this PC and select the file
you want to upload.
(Note: You will have to upload the files one by one).
5. After adding all the files in the window select the files in the order
you want to keep . Remember, the last file that you uploaded is selected by
default therefore you will have to unselect it so as to manage the correct
order of your video.
6. Now navigate to "place in story board" and hit enter. Now all the files
are placed in story board in the order in which you have selected.
7. You can choose play button to listen to your merged video . You can also
explore the options like background music, 3D effects and so on if you
want.

8. If you want you also try the trim option to trim your video in case you
need.
9. Now go to finish button and hit enter.
10. In the window, select export . Choose file dialog box will appear select
the location where you want to save the file. Your exporting will begin and
once done the created video will play automatically.
