Richard, I did try switching from Print view to Draft View, but the

how do I just show one page?

I was recently trying to read a Word Document with headers and lots of bulleted statements using the latest JAWS 2021 and when I pressed Insert Down Arrow to read the document, JAWS gets stuck when reading a heading or a statement with a bullet. It will continue to repeat the line until I press the Down Arrow. I then restart the reading and all goes fine until the next heading when JAWS would start reading the heading line over and over again. Has anyone else experienced this behavior? I was able to finish reading this document by using JAWS 2019.

JAWS 2021 now voices audio level indication on locked screen

Hi, I just installed JAWS 2021 on my personal laptop running Windows 10 version 2004 My system is set with a password. Now, if my computer is asleep and I go to wake it up by pressing a key, the first thing I hear is JAWS tell me “Volume level is 58%”. Never heard this before. Anyone else experiencing this? Not sure it’s really a bad thing, but it’s such an odd thing to be reporting out. I think it happening both if you computer is back at just the clock and also if the screen saver is just on and the first think I see is the password entry screen. Just strange.

Yes, I know my HP laptop offers that double tap toggle option. For me, it is the meaty part of the side of my thumbs that often causes unwanted issues wit the touchpad. Took me a while to figure out that is what was going on in why my pointer was jumping or triggering things I didn’t want. .

Hi
One thing you might check out is the controls for the touch pad. On my laptop I have a touch pad and my sleeves some times causes the mouse to move around however, in my case the fix is quite simple. If I tap twice on the upper left side it toggles the touch pad on and off.
Anyways, just a easy control feature if your laptop supports it.

I have had numerous laptops over the years and the “mouse” area always causes problems… Often times I inadvertently touch the mouse area and JAWS loses focus. Do most users turn off the mouse and connect an external mouse if sighted users want to utilize a mouse? Any input would be appreciated…

I emailed Ryan and got a response 20 minutes later despite it being far passed their opening hours. This is utterly fantastic service. One of the first things he mentioned is using the CNIB card to have the purchase tax free. That's something the Quebec dealer (I forget the name but they took about 6 days to call me back) failed to mention until *after* the purchase. I'm not sure why Freedom Scientific is not using canasstech. Again, thank you so much for the recommendation.

This is fact and nothing more. This isn’t slanted in any shape or form apart from the article’s wording. Doesn’t change the fact it is fact. Not sure how anyone can claim otherwise. I don’t live in America myself but I think this is perfectly relevant especially in these times to post here. This is especially so given that this screen reader costs money for upkeep. If I remember correctly I purchased my last SMA for $120 two years ago. Now I am told that the cost will be $150 and that price is only good until Jan 1. Don't know what the price will be after that.
