Thank you!!

And maybe this was in there, but didn’t see it.
When I am in the menu and want to get back to the document area to type, how do I do that. I  was told that if I select something in the menu then it automatically goes to document area. But what if I accidentally get into the menu and just need to get back to the document area?

As the offer states, anybody in the US and Canada can get this, internationally people have to contact the distributor for Jaws in their country.

It does not matter if you ever bought Jaws and let it lapse or if you have a current subscription licence. How Vispero deals with people who have a current subscription license and who paid for the year I don’t know, this is what their customer service is for. I further would say that this is not such a big deal for those of us who have an SMA although Vispero may very well add 3 months to the end of your SMA, but again, just call and ask since only they can answer those questions.

Well, I was able to get it, and I've never used anything other than the 40-minute demo mode of JAWS on my own machine.  This makes it easier for me to try to play with JAWS if needed without having to reboot my machine, at least for a couple of months.  The offer also applies to ZoomText and Fusion.

The page specifically states that the offer through the page itself is for the US and Canada only.  But it also explicitly states that international options are available and that those outside the two noted countries should contact the JAWS distributor in their country.

Hi,
I'm a huge fan of crossword puzzles, and word games in general.
I'm aware of Aph's crossword web app, but I'd like something that can be played regardless of whether or not I have internet.
Does anyone know of any good crossword apps, and other word games, that work well with jaws?

Just did a google search, and a bunch of stuff from the Windows store came up, but I don't know if those games are accessible.

Thanks,
Jessica

For real. Just successfully got mine, and am so grateful—current license had been about to expire in the next week, and I had been unable to save enough to renew.

You really would not want to permanently disable Windows Defender (or a third party security suite, were you using one).

I can tell you how to temporarily disable it, should that become necessary, but suggest you read the page, Manage Slack connection issues | Slack, before we'd go there.

Does anyone know how to turn off the windows defender firewall, or make it so that I can run the new slack and scripts for JAWS?

Thanks,

Subject: Converting/Saving audio media

Hello,

I am currently going through a fair number of cassette tapes, containing spoken conversations, as well as  audio CDS many of them containing various XM radio music programs and specials.

Using JAWS, what programs are available where I could insert the CD in my PC and convert them to MP3 files, where I can store multiple CDS on one single MP3 disc.

Related to this issue, I have an older CD player though I am not sure if it has the capacity to create MP3 files. I would guess there is a program that can help make this happen. In truth, I really have not converted any media to an MP3 format, so would appreciate some direction/assistance from those of you who are familiar with this process.

Regarding the cassette tapes, I have an old cassette deck, which I could use to transfer specific content onto an MP3 disc. Again, assistance with regard to this process is really appreciated.

I would really like to preserve some of this content, both spoken word and audio as it is a part of my personal history.

Best to all, Justin

I thank Mike B for writing the first set of steps.

Stop Google Chrome from Storing Browser History - Turn Off Search
Suggestions on Google Chrome

There doesn't appear to be any way to do this from within the browser,
so following the steps below should get the job done:
NOTE:
The following message may be encountered after using these steps, and
although annoying, causes no harm, and can be ignored.

Alert!
Something went wrong when opening your profile. Some features may be
unavailable.

OK Button

1. Open Chrome and press, Control + H, to open Chrome history.

2. Tab to, Clear browsing data link, and press enter.

3. Tab to the, Time range combo box open the combo box, choose the, All
time, option and close the combo box.

4. Tab to these other checkboxes to select what you want deleted
permanently. They are as follows:
Browsing history Clears history and autocompletions in the address bar.

Cookies and other site data Signs you out of most sites.

Cached images and files Frees up X.X MB. Some sites may load more slowly on
your next visit.

5. Tab to, Clear data button, and press the spacebar or enter to remove the
selected data. Now close Chrome and do the following.

1. Make sure that hidden files and folders are set to show.

2. Use the following path to find the file you need to change, replacing
"your Name", with the name of your user folder
C:\Users\Your Name\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default

3. Press the letter H until you come to "History",
then open the properties, and tab to "read only", and check the box.

4. tab to okay, and press the spacebar.
Alt F4 to close all windows, you are done.

Note:
Changing the file properties to read only prevents Chrome from writing to
it, which in turn prevents it from showing suggestions while typing in the
address bar.
Since this is a file specific to Google Chrome, the properties of this file
may change when the browser is updated.

Rick

The Windows Club is a very reliable source, but this particular article is
out-of-date (by its own admission, saying that the Autocomplete settings
have moved, and they have)

But, first, I can tell you I'm running Chrome Version 80.0.3987.149
(Official Build) (64-bit) , and these settings do not make the slightest bit
of difference for autocomplete in the URL/web address/omnibox (pick your
favorite term).

When you open Settings, the You and Google section is first, and the Sync
and Google Services settings are under it. When expanded, you will find the
Autocomplete Searches and URLs toggle. I've got mine toggled off, but it
still does it. This could possibly be because I have not recently deleted
all browsing history, but I know when I have it still eventually "comes
back".

Autofill is related to web forms, and it's in the Autofill section, which
comes next, and there is autofill for passwords, payment methods, and
addresses and more (and in this case they don't mean web addresses).

Hi all,

I find it annoying when on Google Chrome, as a enter some text in the search
edit field, it starts predicting what I want to search for. How can I turn
that feature off?

Cheers,

I already have a one year JAWS license which expires on May 6.  Can I still take advantage of this offer to extend it to June 30?  If I call FS for help, do they still have agents on duty to answer questions?
