Hello,

I have been waiting to respond to this persons question/concern.

I personally have experienced the same problem she describes regarding the use of Zoom and the Aftershokz blutooth headset.

I don't think it is a JAWS problem and think that it is an Aftershokz problem as every other person reporting on this topic are using a different brand blutooth headset and are not experiencing the problem like the Aftershokz.

I will be going to the Aftershokz website to see if I can send them a message and see what they say.

I have encountered the problem with Jaws2020 not talking. I can still hear the host of the meeting and anyone else present. I was thinking of calling Freedom Scientific and this would be like beating a dead horse.

Hello,
When I open zoom and have my aftershocks bluetooth headphones connected, I discover that I lose JAWS speech. I am using the latest version of JAWS2020. Audio from zoom also does not come through.
Has anyone else noticed this? I did install silenzio because I noticed that sound had been choppy but I have also tried uninstalling it and also uninstalling and reinstalling Zoom to no avail.
Thank you in advance for any responses.

This is interesting, because I   use the WR feature on all my meetings without problems.

1. Open the participants list (PL) with Alt+U.

2. Focus on the list of participants.

3. Press Shift+TAB until a list box--I think it's a list box--is located with names or telephone numbers of those in the waiting room (WR).

4. Press Down Arrow to make sure you are focused on a name or phone number with whom you wish to communicate via the "Message" button, or whom you want to admit to the conference via the "Admit" button.

5. TAB to the appropriate button and press ENTER to activate it.

If the person admitted to the conference is the last one in the WR, the entire list object will disappear. Either way, you're still in the PL pane.

This does not help I know but it is not and individual issue.
Unless your meetings are vast I don't really know why you need the Waiting room as you are able, with a screenreader to easily identify all the meeting participants so once people are congregated in the meeting you can then review and check the participants list before the meeting starts and identify any potential interloper. This is essentially exactly the same check you would make with a waiting room anyway as far as I can tell. The waiting room formalises admission but if an interloper is there you can then if necessary terminate the meeting if they do not leave.

Unfortunately looking at the Zoom Professional page on Hartgen consultancy the Waiting Room does not appear to be covered.

For what it is worth, Jonathan Mosen’s book is excellent, but also 3 years old.

Perhaps the new book covers some of the newer settings, I don’t know.

Maybe one of you Android users needs to write one, or record one.

I can’t say the same, it’s crashing a lot in outlook for Office 365, but I can’t pin down whether it is Outlook or JAWS.  One thing’s for sure, Outlook doesn’t crash with NVDA or Supernova nearly so often, so I suspect JAWS.

Hi.
I can add ports.
I turn on port forwarding and hit apply.
Then I go into the router and check the boxes.
Then there is nothing more. no apply button at all.
The ports are still closed.
Do you think that I've missed something.

I don't know that router, but checking those boxes might not mean
what you think it does. For intance, on my Verizon Fios Gateway
G1100 router, checking the box means it's eligible for deletion and
the DELETE button becomes active at the bottom of the list and screen.

Have you tried the ports to see whether or not they actually got
enabled?

I have noticed this change for quite some time now and the solution to

I went into the settings and changed the behavior so that all pdf's

in Chrome and I would first hear a few buttons for options such as to
download the PDF, rotate clockwise, and some other settings that I would
just go past and get to the document to read. We are thinking something
either changed with the newest release of enterprise Chrome, or my company
made some sort of change to the settings, but the Google Rep wasn't sure
what settins they would have changed to cause this.

Hi, Shirley. First, you need to make sure that Adobe Acrobat DC is your default pdf reader. You can do this by typing default apps into your search box using the Windows key.

After that, all you do is click on the attachment, and TAB to open. Because Acrobat DC is your default adobe reader, the attachment will open in Acrobat Reader by default when you click Open.

Pressing ALT+SHIFT together, should switch between the 2 keyboard layouts. If you have more than 2 keyboard layouts, press and hold down the ALT key and tap the SHIFT key. By doing this repeatedly, you will cycle through the installed keyboard layouts. One word of caution, if you are using a European keyboard, use the left ALT+SHIFT key combination, this is because, on European keyboards, the right ALT key, is used as a modifyer key for accent characters and other characters, used in European languages.
