Re: Script Error Dialog

Poppa Bear <heavens4real@...>

Hello David, on one of my laptops I have a script error problem. I get
dozens of JAWS script errors all of the time and it does not matter if it is
internet, Skype or other programs. When I go to close them I get a message
that says the script dialog manager is already open and it is sometimes
impossible to close all of the script error messages, even when I go to the
task manager. Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

likely it's on press spacebar to turn off, Now tab to close.

Greetings Group,

While entering web pages I am receiving a “Script Error Dialog”, asking if I
wish to continue using scripts on this page; sometimes pressing yes deals
with it, and sometimes pressing yes, no, or escape has no affect.

Are others receiving this dialog?

Is there any way of getting rid of, or dealing with this annoying dialog,
please?

Thank you,

Kevin.

Microsoft has just released Windows 10 S operating system. Careful with this operating system when shopping for a new computer. Windows 10 ass is Google ChromeBooks competitor it is geared for education. This particular operating system only allows you to download windows store apps. Therefore, third-party programs like JAWS screen reader, is not supported.

This is a last-resort command, and should only be used when all else fails. It may give you more information, however, some apps may not work correctly when MSAA is enabled. If you must use it, I would advise using it as a toggle. Set it on when using Office, and go back in and turn it off when finished with Office. If this were the setting which gave the most usability with JAWS and apps, it would be set ON by default.

Google shuts down massive Google Docs phishing scam

Maria Campbell

Google shuts down massive Google Docs phishing scam
Andrew Morse
2-3 minutes

Google shut down a massive phishing scam that targeted users of its Google Docs service. You know, basically everyone.
The sophisticated phishing scam spread across the web on Wednesday afternoon, tricking people into giving up access to their Google accounts. Some people, like Reddit user JakeSteam, said the scam is so sophisticated it's virtually undetectable.
After offering some obvious advice -- don't click on the link -- Google tweeted it had wrestled the situation under control.
Phishing, of course, is nothing new and Google users get targeted often. In 2014, a similar scam targeted Docs and Drive users. The current ruse appears to have targeted journalists and educators, according to reports.
This scheme is different because it focuses on stealing access to your account rather than stealing your username and password. The attacker created a rogue app made to look like Google Docs, which unsuspecting victims would grant permission to.
Granting permission to a Gmail account is the "equivalent to having access to a username and password," Liam O'Murchu, director of Symantec's Security Technology and Response group said in an email. That means that victims could have been phished without even typing in their password.
Once the scheme tricked its victims, it would send emails to that person's contact list, in hopes of spreading itself. Google has since disabled the fake app.
The scam sent potential victims a link that appeared to be a Google Doc from someone they know and then directed them to Google's account selection screen, JakeSteam wrote. The emails looked legit but are addressed to "hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh@...."
Mailinator tweeted that it wasn't responsible for sending the emails.
First published May 3, 1:25 p.m. PT.
Update, 2:33 p.m.: Updates with news Google has fixed the problem, and at 4:07 p.m. with details on how the phishing scheme worked.

I agree with James. I got into computers to make my life easier, and more productive, not to aggravate me. Anything that doesn't meet that criteria goes by the boards. I like Office, it's a solid product. Office 2013 was my 3rd or 4th edition. I paid my money, and got my product, end of story.

What is that and when I try to put in my password, which I cnaged a few weeks ago, does not like it, does the lockout and then have to click the audio link and type in all the letters, and horrible voice, and then click on next, but cannot go any further. Any fixes for this.

Also, when he was in the list of messages and arrived through them, Jaws would skip the name of the sender, and started with the time sent. Thanks in advance.

Jaws 2018 and MS Office 2013

Claudia

Hi,

I work for the State of Indiana, and our IT department recently upgraded all of us from Office 2010 to 2013. We also received the latest update of Jaws. Since this update, I am unable to complete some forms in Word that I was previously able to fill out. We use a database to pull up some of these forms. They are either in Word or Excel and have tabs that we tab through and complete by either inputting text or checking boxes. Since the updating of software, I am unable to complete these tasks, because Jaws will just say Selected Text, or Unselected Text, if I tab through the form. It's as if the document were protected, but I don't believe it is. I also can't navigate the document, if I use the up or down or left and right arrows. Any ideas, as to why this might be happening?
Thanks.

Since this is MS’s idea of help with the ribbon short cut keys:
Keyboard access to the ribbon
If you're new to the Ribbon, the information in this section can help you understand the Ribbon's keyboard shortcut model. The Ribbon comes with new shortcuts, called Key Tips, which you can make appear when you press the Alt key.
To display a tab on the Ribbon, press the key for the tab—for example, press the letter N for the Insert tab or M for the Formulas tab. This makes all the Key Tip badges for that tab's buttons appear, as shown in the following image. Then, press the key for the button you want.

I thought I would post this link to a list of shortcut keys I found on the web. Hopefully this helps someone.

Subject: microsoft account issues

Hi, since upgrade to the windows creator update, time to time get a notification, having issues with my Microsoft account, and the experience app or feature. What is that and when I try to put in my password, which I cnaged a few weeks ago, does not like it, does the lockout and then have to click the audio link and type in all the letters, and horrible voice, and then click on next, but cannot go any further. Any fixes for this.

Thanks.

And also says to reconnect my drive, which I have a Toshiba external 1 tb drive plugged into my Toshiba satellite pro c-50-a.

Any ideas.

Thanks.

Re: microsoft account issues

I see this a bit differently since if we want to take advantage of the services these companies have to offer we also have to play by their rules to some degree.
Everybody who has an iOS device, Mac computer or an Apple TV needs an Apple Id/account because otherwise you can't buy apps or do much of anything.
If we want to buy something on Amazon or if you sign up for gmail you end up with an Amazon or Google account.
Why should I expect to use services and product from Microsoft without the need to sign up for an account and the requirement to make sure from time to time that it is up-to-date?

Regards,
Sieghard

I got rooked into a Microsoft account when I bought Office 2013, but I continue to ignore the notices that I should update the account. It is an encumbrance on me, a bother to a customer. I hope I really get into tablets and eventually a smart phone, and Microsoft can go fishing eventually.

Bye for now,

Carolyn

Hi Folks,

I simply ignore the notices about fixing my Microsoft account. I don't have one and have no intention of creating one.

Regards,

James

What -- can you write that in a more readable format? Have no idea just what you are asking.
