Hi David, Thanks. Great information. You will see my reply to Alan’s message. It’s interesting as now, when the files open in Acrobat, they are not being downloaded as before. So we are good for now! Best,

There are a few ways of achieving what you want. The most important thing is to make sure you have the DropBox Desktop installed as this is not entirely clear from your email. Depending on how much is in the Cloud and how large her hard disc is the easiest way may be to turn off Smart sync in settings and specify all the folders you want to have definitely available locally to to the lady you are helping. Another approach is to allow smart sync to continue but to them simply go the the relevant folder and bring up the context menu and find the dropbox options - here you can specify the options for that folder - the options are local and online. This is very similar to the ONeDrive option to “always keep on device” option. You of course need to set the folders or files to local to avoid the need to download them. It will take a few minutes to download and catchup. I am not on a Windows machine at the moment so I cannot give stop by step but if you bring up the context menu in file explorer on your DropBox synched folders you should be able to find the options for local or offline.

Hi Alan, I wound up solving the problem. I was able to locate the setting that had all pdf files opening in Edge. I was able to change it to Adobe Acrobat. Now, in the testing I did after doing this, all the pdf’s we tried now open in Acrobat. Thanks for the assist. I had installed the Dropbox app as it turns out. What a relief! Best,

Hi Les,
I believe the lady you're assisting needs to install the Dropbox client on her computer. This will install the Dropbox folders containing all of her Dropbox data currently in the cloud provided she signs into it with the same Dropbox account. I would expect that if she executes a pdf file from its local computer location, Adobe Acrobat should open with that file based on how you set the default file program. You can download the Dropbox client here:

There are lots of things that are far, far easier to accomplish via the Groups.io web interface regarding account preferences, including changing one's e-mail address. But you have to be willing to login to Groups.io in the first place, and that also involves setting up a password for same. For those interested in accessing their Groups.io accounts, if not reading messages, see the opening section of Controlling the Messages You Receive via E-Mail from Groups.io (docx), which covers how to get yourself set up with a password and able to log in to Groups.io for whatever account maintenance you might wish to do, not just what follows in that document. -- Brian - Windows 10 Pro, 64-Bit, Version 2004, Build 19041 The purpose of education is not to validate ignorance but to overcome it.

Re: How to correct dictionary entries for internet explorer?
Mario
a minor note. when tabbing to the list of entries, instead of down arrowing thru a long list, first letter navigation can get you closer to the entry you need to correct. for example, the list starts with words that start with b, pressing t will get you to the first word that starts with t. in addition, typing to will not get you to words starting with to but will get you to words that start with o. so first letter navigation works in this list.

I posed this query to an X nun, well, she feels she is still a nun even though she was kicked out of the convent. She suggested a website however, I think the suggestion below is the best. Btw, the X nun is my step daughter. Who seemed to enjoy the looks she got when she was in her habit walking with me and my guide dog in stores like Costco.

Insert+Space then S will turn speech on or off. If you want to disable the speech while loading JAWS press InserT+J, press Enter on Options and Enter on Basics. Press Shift+Tab till you find Advanced and press Enter. Shift+Tab to Run JAWS with out speech and check it. Then Tab to OK and hit yes on the warning. Tab to OK and press Enter. Now speech will be disabled while loading JAWS. You can still turn it on by Insert+Space and S.

Mike, very easy process. Your person will need to go to the website, go to login, go to email me a login link, go back to their email, after they've put in their email address and hit submit. Click on the link that they received in their email. Then I wanna go down and click on more, and then don't want to click on their name, and then go to where it says account, and then go to Weather email address is which will be a text field, and delete the current address and insert the new one, and then click change email and then confirm by replying to the email that they receive. To the new address. I hope this works.

Can I Turn off Speech but Still See Braille?
Dani Pagador
Hi, Guys.
Using JFW2018 with Win10 something-or-other. I know that speech can be turned off temporarily within a program; that it will come back when you alt+tab away from the program; and that you have to turn it back off when you alt+tab back to the program. Is there a way to keep speech off throughout my computer session but still see Braille on the display? Thanks, Dani
