Hello David:

I did look in Device Manager! And yes, both drivers are listed. And by the way, when I downloaded and installed the updates from Microsoft, included among them was a specific driver for the particular model of the toshiba laptop but, despite downloading and installing the updated driver, Windows has chosen to keep the Freedom Scientific Mirror Driver as the default graphics driver.

Yes, the monitor does work!

The other, I could register the program but, after clicking the button to
start the driver download process, there is a confirmation box which opens
with "yes" and "no" buttons. I tried clicking the "Yes" button with the JAWS
left mouse button, only to be met with the Windows Ding sound. I pressed the
ENTER key, hoping that would acknowledge the confirmation to start the
download, only to be returned to the Desktop.

So, I come to the fund of knowledge, where, hopefully, there are members on
this list, who can suggest/recommend such a utility which, if not 100 %
user-friendly using JAWS, can be used without too much difficulty.

I am hoping that such a utility can detect the correct display/video driver,
download, install it and change the setting in Windows to make sure that the
new display/video driver is the default driver, with the result that
readable text will be displayed on the screen instead of the screen being
black.

I have already been to the particular driver download page for the Toshiba laptop. However, there are at least half a dozen display drivers listed for that particular laptop. Given that there are so many, which one do you choose because, if you download the rong one, you could cause software conflichs with the graphics/video adapter or worse.

Well, I've noticed it takes Jaws a lot longer to generate speech than was the case even in recent times. I sometimes load Jaws with a shortcut key, and this is where I notice the delay. I'd say it takes at least 10 seconds before I hear speech.

Total Recorder can record a skype call, I don't know if it records
video of the call, however.

That having been said, this is not a JAWS issue - yes, despite the fact the
person in question uses JAWS to access Dropbox. This is a probably
intentional limitation of the Dropbox software itself that would have been
solved had the original poster either deleted or renamed the Dropbox folder
that is, in fact, still existing in the location he wants to place the new
one. So while I agree a mailing list would be more responsive to his
question than Dropbox support would, a mailing list does not necessarily
mean this mailing list.

It's interesting. Since getting JAWS 18 and using it in conjunction
with office 365, I never knew I was making so many spelling and
grammatical errors. The wonderful thing is, it spells out the incorrect
word, which is nothing new, but, then it reads out the correct spelling
so, I don't make the same mistake again. I also found out through it, I
am too wordy. If this keeps up, I may get a complex. LOL.

I actually like the spell-checker in the Office suite of 365 now,
because it also tells me about using more concise language. I guess,
they want us to learn to be better writers; there's nothing wrong with
that I don't think.

Subject: Since getting JAWS

It's interesting. Since getting JAWS 18 and using it in conjunction
with office 365, I never knew I was making so many spelling and
grammatical errors. The wonderful thing is, it spells out the incorrect
word, which is nothing new, but, then it reads out the correct spelling
so, I don't make the same mistake again. I also found out through it, I
am too wordy. If this keeps up, I may get a complex. LOL.
