Well, I’m getting a bit confused myself. It seems that I do get
different results with CTRL1 or 2. As I look at my version of Slack,
Slack Version 4.11.2, I feel like Slack works differently.

I’m finding that the long list of keystrokes, (CTRL+/, have no
consistency. I’m determined to learn Slack since it appears that now,
everyone insists in using this very ugly product.

Are there Slack users? I’ve bee looking for some kind of Slack
accessibility list but what used to be available is no longer valid.

Thanks for this. I think I am just running Microsoft antivirus, whatever it is called, the one it comes with, like Windows defender.

If you are running any anti-virus software on your computer, I have found that you need to turn the anti-virus off for the executable installation to happen over a USB connection. Documentation from Freedom Scientific does not make any mention that anti-virus software may block the installation.

My USB will charge my display but even if I reset the display to USB, which I believebelievei have to do in order to do the installation, it does not recognize the display. I can use it in blue tooth though as I am now. I sure would like to update it though. Any suggestions?

I had a ton of favourites saved in a folder that had been previously imported from Firefox. Out of a habit, I saved every link in that particular folder, since it contained most of my everyday links.

I tried contacting MS through their disability helpline using Be My Eyes to no avail, since something is either wrong with the app or on their end.

Calling in directly isn't really possible unless I want to spend a ton of money on an international call.


Any thoughts?

Hi there.  In zoom, you can adjust your settings thus. Press tab until you hear setting button, wack enter or, press the space bar to activate, arrow down to audio, tab until you hear adjust your microphone volume automatically, uncheck this box. Your microphone audio issue should then be resolved.

Hello, everyone.

Recently, I have been doing some online teaching via Zoom, and have noticed a very strange issue with my microphone volume.

For these meetings, I use a headset with an attached microphone.  I have experienced this issue with two different headsets.  Both headsets are connected via a USB port.

My issue is that when I’m teaching, my microphone suddenly looses volume for no apparent reason.

I can’t identify a consistent pattern to these failures, but I’m told my volume suddenly disappears to the point that my audio is unintelligible.

Has anyone else had this issue in Zoom meetings, and if so, how did you solve it?

Is there something I can do to keep my volume levels more stable?

I’m using Jaws 2021 here on a Windows 10 PC.  I also put Jaws in Speech On Demand mode as I’m conducting my classes, because they involve screen sharing, and I want to minimize Jaws speech when I’m navigating the screen.  Fortunately, I have a HIMS Polaris Notetaker that I can use as a Braille display.

Assuming Outlook 2019 has the same layout as 2016, try using Control Tab to cycle through the inbox, the quick navigation and the folder pane.  I think F6 and Shift F6 also works.  In either case, be sure that the Folder pane is set to Normal.  Hit Alt then V then F to open the menu and see that the option is set to Normal.
