Hi,
I assume you are using the cable that was provided with your Focus 40 Blu by Freedom Scientific.
Are you able to see the Focus display in the list of drives on your computer?
I assume you read the instructions on how to connect and update your Focus.
If you are not able to see the Focus display as a drive, and you are using the USB cable supplied by Freedom Scientific when you got your display, I don’t see why it is not working. I would certainly contact support at Freedom Scientific and talk with them.

Hi,
If you are running any anti-virus software on your computer, I have found that you need to turn the anti-virus off for the executable installation to happen over a USB connection. Documentation from Freedom Scientific does not make any mention that anti-virus software may block the installation.

Marlo, If you try installing a Focus Blue firmware update for an older disp(the 4th Generation), for example, it might not work. Freedom Scientific says not to, so which display are you using? That is, the generation of display(5th or 4th). Also, I never have to quit my Norton Antivirus before installation. You might want to talk the problem out with FSLayy

Tim:
In Zoom, I unchecked “adjust your microphone volume automatically” box, and did a test Zoom meeting with my wife.
All sounded good, so I’m hoping the problem is now solved.
One thing I couldn’t find was a button for saving my settings, so I hope the setting will stick.
At least I know where to find it now if it doesn’t.
Thanks again!

Hi there. In zoom, you can adjust your settings thus. Press tab until you hear setting button, wack enter or, press the space bar to activate, arrow down to audio, tab until you hear adjust your microphone volume automatically, uncheck this box. Your microphone audio issue should then be resolved.
I hope this helps.

Hello, everyone.
Recently, I have been doing some online teaching via Zoom, and have noticed a very strange issue with my microphone volume.
For these meetings, I use a headset with an attached microphone. I have experienced this issue with two different headsets. Both headsets are connected via a USB port.
My issue is that when I’m teaching, my microphone suddenly looses volume for no apparent reason.
I can’t identify a consistent pattern to these failures, but I’m told my volume suddenly disappears to the point that my audio is unintelligible.
Has anyone else had this issue in Zoom meetings, and if so, how did you solve it?
Is there something I can do to keep my volume levels more stable?
I’m using Jaws 2021 here on a Windows 10 PC. I also put Jaws in Speech On Demand mode as I’m conducting my classes, because they involve screen sharing, and I want to minimize Jaws speech when I’m navigating the screen. Fortunately, I have a HIMS Polaris Notetaker that I can use as a Braille display.
Thanks for any help!

Assuming Outlook 2019 has the same layout as 2016, try using Control Tab to cycle through the inbox, the quick navigation and the folder pane. I think F6 and Shift F6 also works. In either case, be sure that the Folder pane is set to Normal. Hit Alt then V then F to open the menu and see that the option is set to Normal.
