Hi Listers,

I have a new consumer that has an interesting problem with the latest build of Windows10 and the latest JAWS. For some reason, he has been problems with YouTube freezing; however, with the same Windows build and JAWS17, the issue doesn’t exist. Has anyone experienced and if so, what did you do?

Hello Pablo. I don't have an answer for you yet. It's very early here and my son-in-law is sleeping in my computer room. Are you trying to access the Visual Basic editor where you can add event code to a Worksheet Event module? If not, what are you trying to edit?

Do you mean you want to rename a worksheet? If so, it's in the ribbon. Alt H, then O, then R.

Notifications, just click on them when they come in/at your own convenience

Hello,

I don’t know about the tool tips, but when you get notifications from news, for example, you can press windows a to get to your action center, arrow down until JAWS says, “new notification from news” and reads it. Then, just press enter on this to do so yourself. Note that as these are clicked on—you can alt f4 out of the news app at any time--, the notification disappears from your notifications area, so … Hope gthis helps.

Convenient OCR

Lisle, Ted (CHFS DMS)

Thanks to the person who commented last week that Convenient OCR is good for more than just images.  I have been working with a PDF file from my investment group, and it was a mess.  It was temperamental, causing AR to freeze and generally misbehave.  I copied it from the source CD to my hard drive, thinking this would help.  I then tried opening it with Word, and got all kinds of error messages, suggesting key information, required for conversion, was missing.

After futzing around, I decided  yesterday to put it through OCR.  I sent the filtered result to Word, and resaved as a PDF. Yes, it changed the formatting a bit, increasing the page total by 36%, although the original page markers remained part of the text.  But, lo and behold, it now runs without a hitch.

Hi Sieghard,

Not to my knowledge.  If you have a scheme now named Classic Modified 2, this means the original Classic scheme has been modified once already, & is named Classic Modified.  If you look in your list of schemes with the keystroke, Insert / Jaws key, Alt, + S, towards the top you'll probably see both the Classic Modified 2 & Classic Modified schemes.  I think these names can't be changed so the default Classic scheme stays just that, the default & unmodified.  But, on the other hand I could be totally wrong, & personally I've never tried renaming any of the schemes.  Hopefully someone with more knowledge about your question will tell us both if it can be done or not.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for this, just one question: when I followed your steps and at the end pressed OK Jaws said that the classic scheme was modified and would I like to save it. I said Yes, but then it said something like would I like to use “Classic Scheme Modified 2” as the default scheme in Outlook.

Is there some way to overwrite the Classic scheme instead of creating a new one with “modified 2” at the end?

5, tab and enter on edit scheme....

7, right arrow until you hear, attributes,

8 now tab, Now arrow down until you hear, super script, Now tab and choose ignore with the arrow key.

Now tab, Enter on okay,

And say yest to your changes.

Hi there.
About accessible wordpress or CMS I think sometime it’s depends on the Themes.
I used to try WORDPRESS, DRUPAL, JOOMLA, SMF and Etc.
For the WORDPRESS and JOOMLA it’s doesn’t have internal forum module
but for the DRUPAL all of them already in there.
To beginning with the WORDPRESS or another CMS 1st think would
recommend that you should learning with the internal server such:
XAMPP

appserve.
https://www.appserv.org/en/download/

the internal server that’s mean you could have your own server but you
cannot using it for main work just using for learning.
For more info please ask Google.
1 thing I could tell you that you could beginning by yourselves from
many websites try to learn with more than 1 sources
how to installing WORDPRESS with the XAMPP:
https://premium.wpmudev.org/blog/setting-up-xampp/

for the accessibility after you could install or setup then you could
looking for the accessibility plugin or module or themes to make your
website more accessible
you could try more than WORDPRESS with XAMPP.
Oh wait for the others to answer more
I’m not sure my answer could make you well
Good luck
