Not sure where you can get it, but the version that worked for me is
OB9.0.1543ENU-32bit-64bit.EXE

Whereas the newest version does not work: OB9.0.1696.403-ENU.EXE

Respected David and others, As I said that I’m using windows 10 fall creater’s update with JAWS 2018 december update, I’m having a very disturbing issue.

As I type any thing in windows 10 mail app and want to read what I type, JAWS simply mute.

I wrote this to freedomscientific too.

They said that this is a known issue and they are working on it as urgent bases, but nothing they did since December 18 when I contacted them.

Does any one of you have any remedy?

I sincerely hope that I will be replied promptly!

Respected David, I’d like to offer my humble submission to your kind notice that I have been using NVDA since ages. I know that it is quite easy with NVDA and I have tested it as well, but this mailing list is for JAWS that’s why I asked this question.

Another thing I’d like to let you know that I have tested it with narrator as well and it is working fine.

I’m having issue with JAWS 2018 only not even narrator, NVDA and JAWS 18.

Hi Inamuddin!

I use the NVDA screen reader with the mail app, and it works great!

It is really easy to use NVDA along with JAWS.

I use NVDA for what JAWS does not work with, which is a lot LOL!

www.nvaccess.org

You can download NVDA from there, and it is totally free, and can access a lot, and is a full functional screen reader!

Re: JAWS and Windows 10

i don't think it makes any difference.
i have used both the perfessional and home versions on windows 7 home and windows 10 perfessional as a demo with no problem.
i'm useing the paid home version now on both with no probllem
about the only thing different is with home you can only install it on 3 computers. the pro version can be installed on 5 computers i think.
i'm not sure about the remote service between the two.
other then this both versions are the same.

Hello,
I have a question concerning JAWS and Windows 10. I have a license for
JAWS professional and was wondering if I can run that on Windows 10
home or if I need to buy a computer with Windows 10 professional. I
know you can't install a home edition of JAWS on a Windows
professional machine, but can you go the other way? My laptop I have
now came with Windows 7 professional, so I didn't have to worry about
compatibility.
Kind Regards,

Hello,
When I try to repair OpenBook, I get this message.
OpenBook Setup Package Error
The OpenBook setup package could not install the required component FSOcr64. The process will now exit.
OK

When is it going to be fixed?

Andrew

Hi Kelsey,

this should work. I'm not even sure how Pro and Home differ from a JAWS perspective nowadays.
You used to have to pay almost twice the price, at least here in Europe, to get a working Pro license.

Nermin

I'm curious what your impressions are with JAWS 2018, since you are moving
up quite a few versions from JAWS 14.

Please explain what you meat in your previous post?

I just upgraded from JAWS 14 To JAWS 2018, it cost me an upgrade fee, plus
the cost of an MSA for the next two versions.

Sincerely:

Dave Durber
