using NVDA or even Narrator, press insert+j to gain focus to the JAWS user interface: if JAWS is running as a service (from the systray: down arrow to and right arrow to utilities, down arrow to and right arrow on sound card. if JAWS is set to run as an application (found in the alt+tab sequence): press alt, right arrow to and down arrow on utilities, down arrow to and enter on sound card. one of the recognized sound cards (playback devices) will be checked which will indicate which sound card JAWS will speak out of. press enter on the sound card you want JAWS to speak out of. unload NVDA or Narrator if JAWS is speaking again.

Hi.
I have no idea whats going on. Yesterday I purchased a Yeti USB mic. It has a built in sound card, so I can route other sounds to it. I thought it would be nice to listen to music through the Yeti and have JAWS come out my external card. Well, it would be nice, except it doesnt work. I tried this, and JAWS goes silent. I have to set it to either the Yeti or the default device to get speech back. If I change the Windows default sound to my internal card, all is well.

I did the reverse experiment, and it would be more the situation I’d use. I tried having my internal Realtek laptop card for everything but JAWS, and I tried to change JAWS to use the Yeti. It didn’t work. JAWS was silent. I’m beginning to suspect driver issues. I’m on another audio list, and maybe someone there has solved this issue. Richard, if you can think of something, feel free to let me know. I like this mic, and the sound card part of it is secondary.
Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Then, once you know you are moved to the link, choose the link again from the links list, and choose Activate Link, and press ENTER. Sometimes this works to bring up the link when simply pressing ENTER or SPACE doesn't activate the link.

Hi, Phil. Have you tried JAWS key plus ESCAPE to refresh the screen, not the page? This often resolves these kinds of problems, where you press a link, and the page doesn't seem to change at all.

I been noticing that this kind of thing is happening more and
more. Sometimes useing the tuch cursor: insert and the numpad plus
key twice, will show you the info and once you find it you can
focus the PC cursor on it. But this is hit or miss at best.

Jaws and internet link problem

Hello All
Having a problem with Jaws as follows:
I go to my newspaper server website and log in with
no problem.
I initiate the listing of newspaper links and chose a news paper with no problem as well. The newspaper's listing of sections is read by Jaws and displayed but when a sections link is chosen the listing of articles do not appear. I can still arrow around to the different section link choices but the articles never come up. This happens with Edge, Internet Explorer and
Firefox used as browsers.
I am assuming this is a Jaws problem as everything works fine if I switch over to Windoweyes. Has anybody had a similar problem and how did you
fix it?
TIA
