I think organizations like the NFB have a loan program for such things.

I have an email that has seven attachments. Only one of them is the one I need. There are

6 junk attachments that are jpegs of some signature cards, a couple of html copies of previous messages and one is the pdf I am looking for.

I can’t arrow across or up or down past the second one. I keep getting stuck and Jaws  says focus lost.

I don’t want to have to save all the junk onto my system only to have to print it and sign and re-scan.

This is not the first time this has happened to me.

Even when there is only one real attachment Jaws announces that there are two when I alt tab into the attachments field.

Anyone know why  it would be behaving like this?

Outlook 2010 and Jaws 18 and or Jaws 2018.

Dear Rahul: I wish I could offer you glad tidings, but I have the same issues as a blind translator. I receive many job offers with ALMOST legible files, but the codes, logos, some tabulated items get scrambled, and I tend to decline those jobs. Only, they constitute the lion's share of what flows my way. The doable jobs get fewer and farther between.

Hi, Pastor Gil.

I use Outlook 2010, not Outlook 2007, but I think the procedure should be similar.

Turn Off Auto Bullet Or Numbering In Outlook

You can turn off auto bullet or numbering in Outlook as follows.

1. Open the Outlook Options dialog box.

2. click File > Options.

3. click the Mail in the left bar, and then click the Spelling and Autocorrect button in the Compose messages section.

4. In the Editor Options dialog box, click the Proofing in the left bar, and then click the AutoCorrect Options button in the AutoCorrect options section.

5. In the AutoCorrect dialog box, go to the AutoFormat As You Type tab, and uncheck the Automatic bulleted lists and the Automatic numbered lists boxes in the Apply as you type section. And then click the OK button.

6. Click the OK buttons to close all dialog boxes to finish saving the settings.

From now on, the 1. Or * you type in the email body won’t be automatically numbered or bulleted any more.

Landscape vs Portrate of a PDF

Shannon

Hi again

When it comes to a scanned pdf is there a way to tell if the image is turned sideways?

I have a guy telling me that my document looks totally different than his.

I printed it signed it, and had someone  scan it for me

When I sent it back, . apparently it is sideways and when he prints it is cutting it off.

Is there a way to tell if it is sideways? When I read with the OCR of Jaws it read out just fine. I guess the OCR will turn it right side up when recognizing?

Thanks

Shannon

I just use cut and paste in the message area to add attachments.

To read attachments use Alt-F and tabe to save attachments.  You can save them one at a time or all at once.

Hello, everyone.

Yesterday, you may recall that I was told by Freedom Scientific Tech Support that the best way to solve the issue of Outlook Crashing when entering addresses into the “to” field of a new e-mail message was to put Outlook in safe mode.

This is continuing to work for me, although I must add that if you shut your computer down for any reason, you will have to go back into Outlook and put it back into safe mode once you have re-booted.

Apparently, the safe mode setting isn’t saved, as I have just discovered.

OK, it took a few tries, but someone at VFO told me how to do this.
For anyone else who may need to know, routing jaws to the PC cursor

I have jaws 18, Windows 7, and Word 2010.

I work in a field that frequently requires documents to have
continuous line numbering turned on in word. Staff will often
communicate ideas about shared documents by referencing particular
line numbers in the document. I can use insert+delete to tell me the
line number of the **page**, but I cannot figure out how to get jaws
to tell me the number of the line with respect to the entire document.
Note, I know that I can use the "go to" function to go to a particular
line number, but I also need to be able to extract the information to
communicate with other people about my own ideas.

I also have a Braille display. I have status cells turned off, and I
have tried playing with turning them on to see if that would give me
the information, but that doesn't seem to be working. Any assistance
is greatly appreciated.

Dear Rahul,

I have the current version of k1000. I used to have Open Book and
then the company that owned it stopped upgrading the OCR engines. I
had scanned a book with extensive footnotes and none of the footnote
numbers appeared in the text. With the current versions of FineReader
and OmniPage found in k1000, the footnotes are scanned and recognized
without any problem. The only way to know the answer to your question
is to run sample documents through the OCR conversion and see the
results for yourself. Feel free to send me a sample file at my private
e-mail address at KKellyP@Gmail.com to run it through the OCR
conversion and I will e-mail it back to you.
