Lenovo laptop and function keys
Bonnie Vegiard
Hi everyone,
Thanks for the feedback last week on my new Lenovo laptop and function keys. I was able to get someone to change the operating system so that the function keys are no longer mapped the way they were originally. Now my alt F4 does work, but none of the other function keys seem to work automatically. Can anyone help me with next steps to get the function keys to map to the jaws commands? I am also not used to the laptop layout. Yesterday when I set up my Outlook 365 account, it wanted a password, and then the laptop told me that the caps lock key was engaged. So I am not sure if the password I typed in wasin caps OR not, but it looks like when I try to put in that password, it is not working no matter what I try. I need to know what I am typing in using the laptop layout, whether it is caps or not. Thanks! Bonnie

Hello List,
I am new to Outlook 365. My list of favorites does show up as a sighted person can see them. When I used Outlook 2010 I could access my favorites by tabbing from my list of messages. How do I maneuver to the favorites folder?
Thanks in advance, Mark

Hi Madison, To add a forwarding address in GMail (instructions copied from https://support.google.com/mail/answer/10957?hl=en-GB):
GMail is pretty accessible, but if those instructions don't work for you with JAWS let me know and I'll try to put something together more specific. Jim

Re: How do I view extensions in chrome?
In Chromium based browsers, you can also enter the browser name, followed by colon double forward slash, followed by where extensions falls for that browser. It's fast if you keep a list.
For example: chrome://extensions edge://extensions/ vivaldi://extensions brave://settings/extensions (brave nests extensions under its settings hierarchy, while the others have extensions as a standalone group) -- Brian - Windows 10 Pro, 64-Bit, Version 20H2, Build 19042 One does not discover new lands without consenting to lose sight of the shore for a very long time. ~ André Gide

Hi Jessica,
Well, the quickest way I know of is, Alt + F,
then press the letter, L, then press the letter, E, and this put you in your
list of extensions.
Stay safe and take care. Mike.

Subject: How do I view extensions in chrome? Hi,
I’m using jaws2021 with the latest version of chrome.
I’m trying to figure out how to view what exstentions I have installed.
I’m aware that this can be accomplished through the menu, but that’s a lot of steps.
Is there a way to do it with less keystrokes?
Thanks,
Jessica

Hi, Jessica. As far as I know, the only way to view extensions is,
1. Open Chrome. 2. Press ALT plus F, followed by S for Settings. 3. TAB once, and arrow down to the "Extensions" link, and press ENTER.

Sharing Talking Clock Script for Jaws translated into Spanish
Leo
Hello guys and gals, I have successfully translated completely the talking clock script into Spanish. This script was written by David Truong and Andrew Hart. I was able to find the problem after one member of the Jaws list suggested Microsoft Word to encode the Spanish characters that had not been properly encoded by notepad. I share the compressed package containing not only the scripts properly translated into Spanish but also the read me file, just in case someone here knows people that might take advantage of this. All updates for the same version number are free. So if you are using 2020 then the December 2020 Jaws update is free.
