Re: specifying print range

Hi,

If I'm correct, on the print dialog box, you would tab to a control that
states :print what" or something of that order. It should allow you to put
in a range usually in the format: 1-3 for pages 1 to 3 and I think if you
separate the pages by commas it will print those specific pages, but I'm not
sure. HTH

jaws no longer reading when composing email in outlook 2007

Jim Ruby <jim@...>

Hi, Jaws is no longer reading when composing email in outlook 2007 under windows 10. It worked before Christmas and then I think there was a couple of updatesand now I can no longer work with in outlook 2007 when composing emails. Any suggestions? Using the latest version of jaws 2018. Also tried window-eyes and it no longer reads this either.

Thanks for any ideas.

Hi, Jessica. I also must use the Tab key once I am in the News app. This does not impair my ability to use the program, though. If you press the “button” related to the article, as you tab, it will read each part of the article. The reason it works this way is because the News app for Windows 10 requires the touch cursor to navigate the controls. If you turn off the Touch Cursor by tapping the Vertual Cursor key command, you can navigate the news article with the Arrow keys. You must wait until you press the button related to the article before turning off the Touch Cursor.

Re: JAWS and Windows 10

The only difference nowadays is in the licensing. Basically FS says that if you own your computer even if you use it for your own business you can just use Jaws Home, it saves you a bit of money for your SMA every two years. Jaws Professional these days is primarily meant for companies who purchase Jaws to be used on company computers by employees who don't own said computers. You were always able to install a Jaws Professional version on a home version of Windows even back in the XP days, but back then if you wanted to use Windows XP Professional you needed Jaws professional fro this to work.
When I bought my last SMA I also didn't really know this, next time I have to buy an SMA I will downgrade to Home because while I have a retail store with a number of computers, I own the computers and I am the only blind person who uses them with Jaws, all my other staff are sighted.

Sieghard

Hi, Pastor Gil. I am using NOD32 version 11. It is fairly accessible. One thing you will need to do, however is to have Eset turn off the option that turns off NOD32 while gaming. This is because with this option turned on, it never quick scans the computer. With this option turned on, it also gives constant notices that your system is exposed to risk. It doesn’t tell you why, but it is because the gaming option is on, and this prevents scanning of the files on the disk.

The only other problem I have found is that if you open the main window, the button to close the window is unlabelled.

Re: JAWS & OpenBook

Francisco Salvador Crespo

The best workaround for this is to uninstall FSOCR, do whatever you need with the latest OpenBook release and repair Jaws.
The issue is produced because OpenBook includes a version of FSOCR that is older than the one Jaws is installing. So the installer is unable to overwrite a newer version and stops the process.
This could be fixed with a minor OB update.

Best.
