As for the calendar issue, I have the same issue and it is a pain.

As for the showing in groups, here is the setting and the hotkey to turn it off.

Show in Groups
Alt followed by V, A, B, W

It is a toggle, so each time you do that it switches to the opposite setting.

I’m using the most recent versions of Outlook2016 and Jaws2020. When I’m in the calendar, I use to be able to tab to get from one event to the other. For some reason it now says “day view” and then the appointment. There are day there are no events and Jaws still reads “day view and the time is from the day I’m on to the next day.

Is there a way for this not to happen and just the event is read and days that don’t have anything are skipped?

I added another email address. When I move to the address inbox it says “group by expanded date yesterday”. I have to arrow down twice before any emails appear. The other email address that are setup in Outlook don’t do this. What can I do so the group view doesn’t show up?

I tried SAPI 5 and Eloquence and they read the emoji just fine.

I went back to my default of Tom enhanced from Vocalizer and it read it when I re-read a sent message.

Then, I just added one here and it just says 12.

This is a synthesizer issue, and unless JAWS is told to process certain Unicode symbols directly and send them to synths, it won’t be able to read emojis and some Unicode symbols correctly.

I find I have to use Narrator to arrow through the emoji panel, and after picking one, Narrator reads the emoji just fine.

Jaws 2021 reads a number.

I sent a note to a friend who has a great job at a place where it is not uncommon for the office to go out for a drink at 3 PM to end the day.  So I used the whiskey glass emoji.  Narrator reads it accurately.  Jaws 2021 says “twelve.”

Any thoughts about how Jaws can be made to speak the emoji?

I have found that I have to go into the notes in Outlook where the entire invitation appears and navigate to the link. When I do that, I then hit shift F10 to bring up the context menu and go to open the link. Often, that is the only way it will work. Hope this helps.



Well, try the public release of Jaws. As  I just had an issue with the Beta and My netgear nighthawk router interface not showing most of the content but the public release did.
