Actually, I just tried my Focus 40, 4^th gen, and it’s doing the same thing. I’m using Office 365. But when I load JFW 2020 it works perfectly. So it is an issue connected with JFW 2021. I’ve just made certain the Braille Sleep mode is not enabled for Outlook, and it is not.

This sounds very strange. Just a couple of questions. How are you connected to the PC, via usb or Bluetooth? Which version of office are you using? In outlook do you have JAWS speech? What happens on the Mantis display in Outlook—do you see the cursor blinking?

I just had a thought, are you in JAWS braille structured mode for Outlook? That’s one setting that I have missed in the past when setting up a braille display. Outlook doesn’t work well without it.

I have a pacmate braille display and a humanware brailiant display and no braille in outlook either.  Where do I go to change outlook to structured mode?

I do not have an answer about the newspaper panels, but it sounds like Vispero has reached the point of requiring folks to use Fusion which is Jaws plus ZoomText, rather than continuing Magic support. Of course, you will have to ask Vispero to be sure.



Good morning all: I was very surprised when I first tried to load Magic with jaws 2021. A voice said something like—Sorry, Magic is not compatible with J2021. You must use J2020 or before. Ouch!

 

So this my main problem. In the E edition of my local newspaper I could read the story panels only with Magic running and I would pull the mouse pointer to the story panel and jaws would read the contents of that story panel. I could read those story panels in no other way.

 

I feel certain there is a way to get Jaws to read these panels without Magic running. Any ideas?

I have a new Lenovo laptop that I installed an older version of Microsoft Office 2007 Classic.  I am currently running JFW 2021.  When trying to use Excel, JAWS does not read cell contents or it will simply read one specific cell.  As I navigate to other cells, JAWS will not read them.  A sighted user informed me that they can see that I am indeed moving to different cells but JAWS does not read them.  Hope all of that rambling made sense…  Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hi guys:

I write to inquire about a unique nuance regarding speech profiles and sound cards within jaws.

I currently have a Bluetooth speaker hooked up to my computer.

I set jaws to come out the real tech sound card, and all other sounds come out the Bluetooth speaker.

Here’s the deal,

When I set my speech profile with ctrl + insert +s to eloquence, jaws comes out the real tech card as I originally desired; however,

If I set the speech profile to Microsoft mobile using ctrl +insert +s it comes out the Bluetooth speaker.

Please keep in mind, I don’t think it is so much a hinderance, but rather,

A feature that I don’t know how to control.

Any ideas?

It would be a great feature if I knew how to control it.

When I looked within the speech profiles under voice adjust, and,

I look under Microsoft mobile profile,

There is no setting that says:

“for this profile, use this sound card.”.

Please advise as you like.
