Re: program to burn disk
Anyburn is a great program and there are 32-bit and 64-bit versions, so if you do have old hardware there is a dedicated version for it.
If one is trying to play the resulting disc on a CD player it's important to know what formats it will play. Depending on the age you may have to use Anyburn's "Burn Audio CD" feature while if it's one that can handle native MP3 files (and that's what you're starting with), you can generally create a data disc that has all the MP3s on it and they will still play. -- Brian - Windows 10 Home, 64-Bit, Version 1709, Build 16299 (dot level on request - it changes too often to keep in signature)

I used outlook and the best experience for me is through the outlook app on PC and not via web. If you have a complete microsoft office suite, outlook will definitely comes with it be it licensed or demo version. With the outlook version on PC, you will have options to use lots of keyboard combination that are jaws friendly and accessible. Regard.

Facebook question
Gudrun Brunot
Hello all: If I wanted to post an audio piece on Facebook, what’s the procedure? I see people posting photos, sharing links, etc., but I’ve never been able to quite figure out how to do what I want to do here. The audio piece is an .mp3 file, about 2 minutes. I know that when you comment on something, don’t break the text up with carriage returns, for that will cause a “send.” I’ve tried to search for how to post a link, and I’ve seen reference to putting some clarifying text in there. What happens to that, since you typically need a carriage return before and after a link…
Is it better to use m.facebook.com for my purpose here?
Help to a Facebook luddite greatly appreciated.

Re: Black on Black Font in Outlook

My latest reply from VFO suggests trying default mode. I still get black-on-black for everything but simply reading a message even in default mode. This is part of what they said. Thank you for your response. Please try running JAWS in the factory default mode to determine if the issue still occurs. To do this, press INSERT+SPACE followed by Z. This keystroke is a toggle, so pressing it again will disable default mode when finished.

AnyBurn Re: program to burn disk
Carol Smith
I highly recommend this program. Make sure you have a blank
disk in the drive. Select the type of disk you want to burn and
then, I copy the tracks to my clipboard and paste them into the
list area, one shift-tab before the add button. Tab to next and
make sure the settings are what you want and then tab to and press
enter on the burn now button. This is the easiest program I have
ever used.

accessing Hotmail/Outlook account via web UI
Mario
I noticed that some members use an Outlook email account. I don't know
the extent of your visual impairment, but I'm blind to the extent as to whatever I can see is blurry; peripheral and central vision is affected. I rely on JAWS when using my computer, but am frustrated when I need to access my Hotmail account via it's web interface. I was wondering if someone has any steps/hints you can pass along to me in accessing the facilities of my account, like getting to the junk folder to see if anything legit got stuck there, and moving it to my inbox or marking it as "this is not junk" so move it to the inbox, and other tasks?

CCT Solitaire
Richard Turner
OK, I’m going to admit to my one brainless activity on the computer, playing CCT Solitaire which came from Criss-Cross Technology many, many years ago. It still works on Windows 10 Fall update.
I truly, absolutely, hate to admit this, but to play that game is the only reason I’m keeping Window-Eyes on my system since I’ve been dragged kicking and screaming into using Jaws. Though, I have to say, Jaws is significantly better than I expected it to be, so I’m over my kicking and screaming and liking Jaws just fine.
Now, in Window-eyes, it was fairly easy to customize the set file so that it only reads the cards showing and when a card is turned over on the deck, it reads the new card automatically.
I’d like to know how to do that with Jaws.
I’m happy to set the .exe file to anyone who wants to check it out. The issue with Jaws, which is probably just my ignorance, is it is way, way too verbose. AS I tab through the cards, it says “Solitaire list box Queen of Hearts selected, as one example. And, when a card is turned over on the deck, it says nothing and I have to tab away and shift-tab back to find out the card.
Is there a way to have Jaws not say Solitaire listbox on each card and to automatically read the new card that turns up on the deck?
Thanks for any help, Richard

Inserting page numbers within word 2016 revisited
James Malone
Hello all, I posted a question on the list about how to insert a page number within word. Here’s what I found. Word 2010 and 2013 works just fine, and this is for Jaws 17, and 2018. However, on the machine that Jaws 17 and word 2016 is running on, I’m finding that Jaws will not read within the headers and footers. I’m finding that Jaws will let me know that a header is there, but will not read the name nor say the page number that was selected. I did a session with Microsoft on three computers, showing them the problem at hand. The steps that were told to me was to press insert, Alt N to select the insert tab in word, then tab down to page numbering within the tab group. I did that for word 2007, word 2010, word 2013 and word 2016. It didn’t work for word 2007 nor 2016. My question is, for those running Jaws 17, have you run in to the same problem? For those running Jaws 18, or 2018 are you experiencing the same issue with Word 2016? I’ll be contacting VFO today on this issue as well, but before I do, I would like to hear from the list. Re: Black on Black Font in Outlook

I’m attempting to copy VFO support on this one. I just asked my sighted wife to look, all the font in replies, etc., are showing black-on-white on the screen even though Jaws is reporting black-on-black.
Like you, Jaws tells me black-on-black. I did go in and change my reply font to Times New Roman, but it still says black-on-black.
Makes me wonder why.

In fact I just realised I get the same feedback from Jaws in the body of a new message as well, i.e. when I press Insert+NumberRow 5 it reports (wrongly, I think) the font is black on black.

Yes, and trying to sort it out in the ribbon appears to be useless.

I am using Outlook 365 and have just noticed as I reply to emails Jaws indicates the font is black on black. This is with Jaws 18 and Jaws 2018. I have my doubts that this is true as people at the other end can still read them and after it has been sent Jaws indicates it is black on white. Has anyone else noticed this behaviour?
