Stan:

I did receive a message back from VFO with a link for an upgrade to fix the problem, similar to the update that corrected the issue in Jaws 18.  This update does not show up when you go to update Jaws normally, as the problem only effects certain builds of Office 365.

I believe if you go to the Jaws web site and and download the latest version of Jaws 2018 and install it, your issue will be fixed as mine is.

Jaws 2018 has brought back the Outlook Office 365 problem when typing in email addresses.  If you start typing in email addresses, the name is not spoken and you cannot arrow down through a list of people beginning with that letter.

The last beta of Jaws 2018 was working correctly with email addresses.  I hope there is a quick fix, like the one they rolled out for Jaws 18 that you could download if you were having this problem.  I did verify that Jaws 18 is still working correctly with Outlook Office 365 version.

I an off to VFO to report the problem.

Hi!

When I do a Google search in Chrome, after I press enter, I press CTRL+Home.

I then press the number 2 on the numbers row for heading level 2. I then can arrow down through many search results. I don’t think you are getting down far enough on the page to see all of the results.

Just press 2 and you are taken to a heading level two where all of the search results are.

Hope that works for you.

Is the topic common enough that you expect many results? I have
occasionally seen searches that simply don't have very many hits (even
had cases where only one page matched, not to mention no matches).

Also, if there are advertising results those come before the actual
search matches and there is some header text between the paid results
and everything else.

I’m attempting to copy VFO support on this one.

I just asked my sighted wife to look, all the font in replies, etc., are showing black-on-white on the screen even though Jaws is reporting black-on-black.

Like you, Jaws tells me black-on-black.

I did go in and change my reply font to Times New Roman, but it still says black-on-black.

Makes me wonder why.

I have my doubts that this is true as people at the other end can still read them and after it has been sent Jaws indicates it is black on white. Has anyone else noticed this behaviour?

Hi Randy: Setting refresh to never did not help.

My issue seems to be about scrolling, particularly where there pictures involved. In say all mode, as the cursor gets to the bottom of the page, there seems to be a lot of flipping going on. The reading seems to be OK except that jaws might do a little more repeating of lines already read.

Open the browser then press insert +6. Then type page refresh. Now change this to never. You will want to change it back when not on the pages that are causing you problems. This is how VFO recommends dealing with pages that update frequently.

Just starting today articles on the nNY Times and on another newspaper site are behaving strangely.

While in say all mode, the pages read fine but the pages are jumping all about. Of course, I can’t see to read the pages any way, but it sure is distracting to see all this jumping about.

Can I do something to stop this?
