Then she's done something "odd."   That's the only way to put it, and one would have to know what it is that's come to be to know how to undo it.

The only way you can change keyboard languages (and/or the entire OS's display language) in Windows is if you have more than one language installed under Windows and the keyboard swapping is done in one of the several ways previously noted.

A screen shot would be helpful for me in terms of trying to figure out what's actually going on here.

Thanks to Kelly for this resource.
I put the list into a Word document using headings and tables to give too clients and whomever so they don't have to access it on the web. It is large print for low-vision users. I put it on my web page and here is the direct link for anyone who might want it.

Hi all,
I have recently purchased a Windows 10 laptop and have installed JAWS
2018: was previously operating on a Windows 7 machine with JAWS 15. I understand that the basic key strokes would be same, would be grateful if someone could point me to a source to get the exhaustive list of key strokes to make optimal use of Windows 10.
Thanks in anticipation

Your approach to solving the issue is exactly the approach I had to take. Fortunately my sighted son lives at home and was able to do it quite quickly for me.

The help from support was not very helpful at all as they insisted that there was not a problem. It does seem to be a screen reader issue as I was using a different one at that time.

Hello,

I had exactly the same problem. I sent them an email, but the tech
support guydidn't believe me and pretended that the registration worked
perfectly fine by using only the keyboard. After days of failure, I
asked someone with functioning eyes to paste that code with the mouse.
It took less than a second. Maybe if more people wrote and told them
about this problem... who knows.

Hello, everyone.
I haven't been on the list in quite a while. But, I decided to review this digest. Thank everyone for this question and the replies. I am taking Spanish 1 in summer school this summer, and I did not even know you could do this with the keyboard. It will be very helpful in my assignments. Thanks again!

Mario, are you by chance visiting from a machine that's still running
Windows 7?

I'm now guessing that what gets set as the default is the result of some
sort of query that allows the webpage to detect what OS the browser is
running under.

Hi

On this website:

www.fox2detroit.com/live1

there is a flash player that pops up for a few seconds. In chrome it is muted. Would this site have to be scripted to work with jaws and chrome to gain access to the web player? Or, could jaws frames be used?

Hi

Are any of you using Jaws with the low cost $449 orbit reader20 refreshable braille display, notetaker, and book reader? If so, does it work well? I just ordered my orbit reader20 low cost refreshable braille display about three or so days ago. Got it from

http://shop.aph.org

and the manual is at:

http://tech.aph.org/or20

I also hope jaws comes out with a driver for the low cost braille me, braille display, soon. Braille me is made by innovision, sold by national braille press in a week or two in June.

Shan,

Did you, by any chance, use voice dictation on that last message.  It reads "ship in the control key," which I take to mean SHIFT and the CTRL, but I'm wondering if you actually meant SHIFT+ALT?

WinKey+Spacebar appears to be the default, see:  https://www.windowscentral.com/how-change-your-keyboard-layout-windows-10 and is the option documented on the keyboard shortcuts page for Windows 10:  https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/12445/windows-keyboard-shortcuts
It also seems that SHIFT+ALT will work, see:  https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-desktop/windows-10-keyboard-switch-language/f6473ac0-2006-4a51-aabe-124f4f1b3507

You can, of course, change the default, though and you have to have more than one language defined for the system to allow switching.  I just haven't been able to find SHIFT+CTRL documented as an alternative.

This is what i see, 2 boxes

I tried pasting the key in after checking that checkbox, but i don't
see it in there, there is no edit box. Any ideas?

moderated New NoScript add-on layout with Firefox 60

Cristóbal

Hello list,

So, I’ve been playing with Firefox 60 and the latest JFW 2018put out this month. And I’m noticing that with the NoScript extension, now instead of the various options to disable or enable the different scripts and whatnot on pages, NoScript now presents you with a webpage with checkboxes instead of the context menu where you can arrow into the submenu with the different listed scripts.

I’m finding the new layout to be more tedious and not as easy to get around and was wondering if there was a way to get the old context submenu layout back or if this is how it is now? I poked around in the NoScript options and didn’t find anything that jumped out to get the old layout back.

Thanks,

Cristobal
